Shocking Dirty Song Won Grammie

My news is two years too late. I was talking to my brother about the daughter of a friend we knew when we were younger. He's lived his adult life in the same area, and I've moved all around. Anyway, he asked this teenage girl what music she liked and she said Cardi B. I said, "Whose that.' He proceeded to tell me about her song WAP Wet A&&& P$%^&, that it won a Grammy.

So out of curiosity yesterday, I looked up the lyrics and the Grammy performance. Man, I can't unsee that. It was disturbing on so many levels.

Most importantly, it's sexually explicit filth, and the music industry is giving this ear porn awards. Very explicit references to private body parts and sex acts. I even skimmed the Wikipedia article on it, about how it was supposed to be sexually liberating to lyrics. There is a dude in the background singing about whores in the house. This reminds me of the movie 'Idiocracy.' The woman on the track sounds tough and not feminine.

Of course, the moral issue, the social degeneracy issue is disturbing. But aesthetically, I found it disturbing, too. There were these large, thick legged, wide, big hipped women laying on the floor doing pelvic thrusts. They had the kind of bodies you'd expect a middle aged or older woman to have, except they were young.

I remembered men on this forum complaining about how certain influences in society were trying to promote fat women. Maybe some here wouldn't find these women to be fat. I also realize liking fat butts is a theme in rap and maybe Hip Hop, and there is this stereotype of black men liking big curvy women with fat butts.

I guess I shouldn't have watched the Cardi B show for a number of reasons, but I can't unwatch the fat unappealing (IMO) thighs, etc. from that show.

And I didn't think the song sounded all that cool. I guess it was okay for that type of music... if that is quite music... but the lyrics were just so nasty, why would they give it an award? And then they promote these singers and make them famous, and teens listen to it and sing about wet... you know what's, with two cuss words in a three word title.

I thought the Oscars were terrible. I saw this movie a few years back where this woman had sex with this human like fish animal right at the end of the movie. Talk about gross degeneracy. Then I found out a few years later, it won an Oscar. They gave out on Oscar about black gays when one kid molested the other when he was little. I just knew they'd made an Oscar mistake about it, decided to watch it, and stopped part way in when I found out it was a gay movie. I shouldn't be surprised that the Grammies are nasty also.

Does anyone else not buy into this standard of beauty? Is anyone else shocked by how nasty the lyrics are?
