It seems rather idyllic. Getting to marry a beautiful 18-year-old professional dancer who is a virgin.

This must be from a few years ago. I understand that foreign men who are more than 50 years old can no longer marry in Cambodia.

But, getting engaged to one, to sponsor on a fiancÃ©e visa, probably wouldn't be illegal.

Why don't you seem to see any businesses touting Cambodian brides any more?

I'm also interested in Cambodian/Vietnamese brides. I think they make better wives than Northeast Asian females, tbh.

Talked to a cute Cambo girl in a bar the other night, pretty sure she was underage so be careful if you talk to them in Thailand or elsewhere in SE Asia.

I'd much prefer to visit Vietnam, although for me China is still the best place to find ladies. Myanmar is impressing me though.

I was watching the Thai news at lunchtime and they had a piece on UXBs and mines in Cambodia. Scary stuff.

Never heard about them banning marriage for over 50's. Good to know they couldn't pass a law like that in the UK.

Still, it could be a law like Thailand's law against riding motorcycles on the sidewalk etc. etc. etc.

So basically now I'm pretty much set that in SEA, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Philippines are my best options for living/dating.

I would say I'd like to begin with a Vietnamese or Thai woman, then move on to Cambodia and the Philippines.

NEA females are becoming very Americanized......

Less demand because they are less well known. Thai girls have the reputation for making good wives. Cambodia tourism has only really taken off in recet years and still isn't huge yet, still considered dangerous because of the recent past etc.

all the attractive woman and their families were killed off in cambodia.. if they were taller... or lighter skin... then they were perceived as coming from intellectual or middle class families so they were annihilated.. all you have left are the rural people or the ones that resembled them.

Yea, right. Funny but I was just in Cambodia two months ago. I saw quite a few taller and light skinned Cambodians. I guess maybe there's a resurgence.

Cambodian women are much less westernized than Thais however, this is changing.

I suggest you get to know them and their culture before you even attempt at hooking up with one. They are much, much different than Thais and their culture takes time to learn. If you want to find some Cambodian girl online I'm sure you can do so but then what? You're going to fall in love and then meet her? To me, this is ass backwards. Get to know Cambodia - more than just what you see on TV or read in newspapers, magazines, and forums - then get to know the women. They are quite sweet on the whole but middle-class, educated Cambodians aren't racing to meet and marry foreigners. Get real. These guys in the videos are marrying the poorest of the poor, the lowest girls on the totem pole. Go for it.

Vietnamese brides are all the rage in Singapore, Taiwan and Korea. I guess they've stopped bride-hunting in Cambodia for some reason.

In most cases, with Cambodia AND Vietnam you're going to be getting girls who need your money. That's why they want you. If you're okay with that, fine. But the man with the gold rules, thus the men think they are the almighty ruler. Eventually, smart women start thinking how they can make money themselves, how their man should be doing things differently, and how they can do it better. Once they get to this point it defeats the purpose of having a wife you and you alone take care of. I think many of the relationships with those who get Viet mail order brides don't work out because of this. Being poor doesn't necessarily equate into being stupid. There's a fine line between a woman trying to help you and a woman ordering you around.
