Carrying Weapons even non lethal, in Thailand

Post by florida johny »

I have hear that in Thailand it is illegal to carry a pepper Spray or teargas spray defense weapon.
What about a taser or stun gun.

Moving up the scale of force what about an ASP collapsible metal baton?

What about a folding pocket knife that you have to unfold by hand?
(Not a switch blade, butterfly knife or gravity knife)

Does anyone who lives in or travels to Thailand know about this?

I may be able to travel there with some guys I know later this year. I stay aware of my surroundings and do not wear bling or designer clothing.
I do not look for trouble or confrontation but a pepper spray is good to have. Especially the kind that shoots a narrow stream of pepper foam or gel.
The wide stream liquid kind can blow back on you.

Just carry a tactical umbrella. I have one I bring on my travels to Russia (borrowed from a friend). I only take it when it’s likely I’ll be walking at night on my own. It has a carbon steal shaft and weighed aluminum head where the spokes join. It works exactly the same as a telescopic baton.
