What S is saying is correct with my understanding..

Also, those people you see in Jolibee...

They are not really the middle class.. Just a lots of people spending a big chunk of their money for 1 meal..
It's like a Ghetto people's spending habit.. No savings involved here.

Those who drives their own cars can probably be considered at least a middle class.. (If they are not super rich,
at least their family have saved money for years and they already have their own establishment for living and making money).
Plus, those people won't really talk to you that much..

So.. don't think that what you met in Angeles is what this country Philippine is all about...
If you see unusual things happening, tell yourself "Welcome to the Philippines!!" and you can finally understand the truth...

Those higher class folks really don't mingle. The guy we rented from lived in a gated community, better than the one we were in, and he invited us to his house. What I noticed was that they had everything inside the community. Every major shop, restaurants and all that good stuff. They almost never need leave. When they do, they probably drive their fancy cars to SM (or more likely the higher class Ayala), park in the guarded, covered garage and walk around the safe air conditioned mall.

Baron,
I have a question for you.

I am from an upper middle class background myself. I grew up in a rich area of Fremont, CA. So why can't middle class Americans easily date middle class Filipinas then? What's the problem? Aren't they matched in class?

If you don't mind another opinion. You can you are just screening them out like the local boys do. To reach middle class she is probably older and there is no cultural pressure to leave home at 18 so she is prbably caring for moma or lola. She is likely married and seperated if you wish to chance being a foriegner breaking their adultary laws fine but to get involved means springing for the annulment early in the process.

Being middle class their is less incentive for her to leave the Philippines and the extended family as an OFW or a wife so she is less likely to chance a relationship when many in the community will label her a prosti.

WHy is there this assumption that it can't be done? Has anyone tried? Meaning, properly courted a girl from a good family and put in the time? I have. The fact is,most guys have a lower class girl on them within days, if not hours, of getting off the plane, so no one tries. Many middle class and even rich girls would be fine with dating a decent foreigner, but he has to be a good guy. When you run around major hang outs like the mall with bar girls, everyone will talk. There's no saving your image after that.

Well, it's not like you've been putting in the time and effort, Winston. From the moment you stepped off the plane, you've been spending your waking hours fornicating with bar girls left and right, precisely because you didn't want to put in time and effort. Just look at my avatar -- need I say more??

Not all people from Freemont are automatically upper middle class or better. The definition of what upper middle class entails in the US varies but generally, it would include high education (graduate degrees for at least practical undergrad degrees from a top tier institution) and a household income of well over US$100K in Bay Area (perhaps around US$80K in 80s), big houses, nice clothes, etc.

As an independent head of a forum of non-conformists earning a US min wage level income who is living a partially localized lifestyle in Angeles of all places, do you really think upper middle class Filipinos will consider you as their American counterpart? If you wanna be considered upper middle class, I suspect you would need to live in nice condo or house, dress flash, and have some sort of respectable role (biz card implying you run a very successful website, etc.), and work your way into the right circles in Manila, etc, through networking opportunities.

Well.. Isn't it very simple? It is so hard to find those middle class girls in those junky areas.. I really mean it...
In order to find these available ladies somewhat easily, you must stay in the area where they are easily spotted at.. Not like Angeles...
If you work or stay in central business districs like "Makati, Ortigas, Fort Bonifacio, Eastwood.. etc", you will see lots of middle class filipinas working in those places..
When you visited me before in Ortigas, didn't you see potential difference in quality of those females here compared to your Junky town?

However, comparing the middle classes, usually foreign middle class people has more disposible income.. If you make like minimum Gross PHP50,000 / Month, your salary is quite a lot compared to most of the Middle class here. However, these people are not so desperate for foreigner... Don't you know that Filipinos love Filipinos over foreigners? Plus, you have to do all the courting shit and all.. Plus, if you try to mess up with other girl, you ARE DONE...

That's about it... Oh, Once a long ago, I accidently met a Very stylish girl who is studying in La Salle and she had a very classy style.. Very attractive and all that...
Her father was a Mayor in One city in Pampanga and all that too.. It was so hard to keep up with that girl.... to act like young 20's and keep spending money and shit..
I decided it was not worth it..

For my previous experience... this is my thing to meet middle class ladies..

1. Live in Manila in a Condo with some good furniture..
2. Have a Job in a company with at least 30 employees + and be a minimum manager or up.
3. Make minimum NET php60K/Month.
4. Wear nice clothing and act like a decent foreign professional..
5. learn how to drink and dance with girls in a very good manner....

If you can do this, you will have more than 10 ladies who wants to come and sleep in your house everyday... and they are not Whores..
They are the real Middle class working girls... However, you will have to choose ONE.. otherwise, you will go to jail someday by false report from one of them.

Rock,
I didn't say everyone from Fremont was upper middle class. I said I came from an upper middle class NEIGHBORHOOD in Fremont. The "Mission Hills" area was what they called it. That's why my peers in Fremont said to me, "Oh you live in the rich area" when I told them I lived in Mission Hills. I don't think you understood what I said.

In any case, to go from an upper middle class background to a shithole like Angeles is a total shame and disgrace. You can't imagine it...

And all for sex... Is it worth it?

Isn't this the type of photogenic woman they put on tv as a presenter, to keep morons glued to their idiot box. Your Leo Tolstoy quote said it all "How complete the delusion that beauty is goodness." Logic junkie talked out how people want to hang around with what are perceived as beautiful people in an attempt to feel better about themselves. In this case it's not even being around beautiful people, but watching them on tv.
Watch the first minute and 30 seconds of this:

They could, as long as they return to the Philippines or go there sometime. But you see what I mean. I see Filipinas like that in fancy restaurants in the Philippines too.

The point is, these hot middle class Filipinas have this look and attitude that says, "I'm hot, have class and quality, and I don't need YOU!" which is ball-busting to us guys. lol
