Nice I am 40, let´s see..... Don´t want to derail the thread just a quick question. What do you guys think of Dumaguete? - It´s called: the place where the gentle people live. It´s quite popular with Expats. Is it a good place for long time stay?

I've never been to Dumaguete but have heard it is a decent city. Plenty of colleges so a lot of young women to be had. It also is a rather small city so if you are not familiar with the Philippines then you might not be comfortable with the lack of first world amenities. That is just my take with regards to other cities similar in size but like I have said I've never been there.

Actually, while not very large (120,000 I think) Dumaguete has plenty of Western-style amenities. 4 colleges, good Internet (well good for the Philippines), decent and cheap transportation, good medical, malls, restaurants, etc. Does it have a girlie bar on every corner? No. But I doubt you'd need it.

However, if you need a large metro area with the equally large clubbing scene, it might not be for you. But I liked the city very much.

Thanks. I read it´s a good start for newbies as it´s not that alien as there are many expats living there. Actually I don´t want to move to different places like a headless chicken. I want to make a good decision and be in one place where it´s ok. Moving around is quite a stress.

Well, with the millions of girls in the Philippines, you are quite likely to find interesting girls willing to be the "girlfriend for now". That said...I do not know if I have even seen one of those one in a thousand girls settle for that. The smart ones know their worth...

To reveal a bit of my own experience, had I suggested anything temporary about my taking of my father-in-law's daughter, it would have gotten dramatic for both her and myself.
It was a quiet moment when my wife told her father she was moving in with me before a wedding.

If you are there an extended amount of time it is very doable, but a short 2 week vacation you will be hardpressed to find a quality, non scammer girl to go with you unless you have connections or a real jewel you have met online. The fact of the matter is that with traveling together implies sex and many girls who jump quickly to sex are not that trust worthy. There is always the possibility and I'm by no means saying it is impossible, but it's better to be realistic than overzealous and wind up disappointed. Like Dave said, most have no interest in being your "Vacation girl."

The extremes are very realistic in nature, however. Foreigners that come to Philippines tend to fall into those two extremes. They are either so amazed at how potentially easy the girls are that they become mongerers or they are amazed at how the women treat them that they fall for the first girl that treats them well. There is very little middle ground for vacationers unless you lie your ass off, which you mentioned that you are not interested in doing.

Thats the goal of me and most haers here actually. unfortunately your gonna wind up with low hanging fruit usually cause you wont have the paitence or mentality to court a genuine good girl cause your not looking for a wife in your mind and want to sow your wild oats. You can but its the same reason why me and many other foreigners can't or wont cause its too much time too had to get to know, and you have to deal with family, no sex, etc. You do realize if you date a good girl your gonna have to wine and dine or get to know the family and multiple dates without sex and she may not even be good at it? So most ofus go the easier route where we get lots of sex or a vacation girl.


if your not looking for marriage your gonna have a boring trip looking for only the highest quality. Im not joking. You gotta tap into the low hanging fruit to get maximum bang for your buck. I personally avoid bars or freelancers though cause a 2 month trip would cost a 6 month trip if you were using a new girl a day. so better to tap into low hanging fruit off dating sites or cold approaches who give it out at a much cheaper rate and a better gfe experience.

You better use day game or start making lots of friends at church etc. These girls are not on dating sites if they are hot and don't care about only your money. Why should they? They dont want only money and they are hot they will have lots of filipino guys after them. Also some of the hot girls have serious mental issues and thats why no filipino guy even wants them. My current live in has a sister who has major attitude and personality problems and thats why she can't find a serious filipino or foreign boyfriend. No foreigner wants a girl with attitude and bitchy. More often the quality women they are in a church or working at store and you gotta get teir attention just like any woman in the world. There are exceptions on the dating site but I haven't found them actually cause they dissapear and aren't serious about meeting foreigners anyways, only the desperate or leftovers actually usually wind up doing so. Some could argue even my own current live-in is one of those exceptions but she is very poor and jobless and i trust her alot though and even when i saw other girl she still loves me and wants to be with me and never demands money. She moved in right away and at the time i thought she was just being hoeish because she didn't know me only on skype but was willing to move in right away. But i realize she is not really that slutty when i met her she is not the type to sleep around or flirt. months later she admitted that wasn't her real family and her parents weren't really in teh picture and she was stuck living there for the last few years. (not the JAG section in Landmark store) She was hot even by my standards and knowing what you like she would probably appeal to you. She had light skin, blonde hair, wearing colored contacts and had a nice figure with boobs too, maybe around 5 ft perhaps. What's nice about those jean stores is that the girl employees have to wear skin tight jeans so you know they have a decent figure and ass/legs. She's the type that's into foreigners I can tell by the way she looks and the way she was trying to get my attention but overtly. You may want to go up there and check her out as she might be a good catch if you can get her contact info. I'm currently not looking but I probably would have gone for her if I was.

Most of the stores hire extra help because labor is so cheap which means half the Filipinas have nothing to do all day. Most of them are very happy if you stop and chat with them. Just ask them if they want a bite to eat after their shift is done, there's a good chance they'll say yes.
