As you all know, the Philippines has been devastated by one of the largest storms in recorded history. Most of them were already dirt poor and this is an enormous disaster. Earn yourself some karma today and help them, even 5 or 10 dollars will help. Some links below to where you can donate. I promise you will feel good doing it, I just did.

Not to be an idiot, but that is the average donation size people give. Learned that in Psych.Hero wrote:Just sent 50 bucks.

When you go to the PayPal home page, it asks you to make a donation to the typhoon victims. It takes you to this page:
https://www.paypal-donations.com/pp-cha ... jsp?cid=28
You can donate there. PayPal is even offering to waive fees on donations so that all of the money donated will go to the typhoon victims.
But how do you know it won't fall into the pockets of corrupt government officials? What controls are in place to prevent that?

Winston, you bring up a good question. I've sent several hundred dollars to the red cross link I gave above and am trying to figure out how I can afford to send more. But I have no idea if that's really the best place to contribute. Anybody have any input or knowledge on this? Those poor people, it's one thing to be homeless and literally have nothing, but there are many that are on the verge of starvation and disease. Hard to imagine how anyone, even the coldest of the cold, would plunder relief funds for this, but those of us who have spent any time there never cease to be amazed at the rampant corruption we always see. So I don't know. Anyone have any suggestions?
