Filipina culture: Thank you and admit did something wrong

Post by WorldTraveler »

Filipinas and Thank you.
I see them as quick to ask for money and don't like saying Thank You after you give it to them.
-
In any problem. Quick to tell you what you did wrong. Seldom acknowledge that they they did anything wrong, even if 80% of the problem was their fault.

What have you seen?

I have noticed that Thais also do not say thank you after you give them something. Something about SE Asian culture that does not emphacize the importance of saying "thank you". Not that, they never say "thank you", but they just forget to do it. They also do not always say ' that's OK' or 'do not worry about it' when you apologize. Same in Thailand. Some kind of glitch in the cultural upbringing ( relative to our culture).
The rest is just immaturity as we deal with some very young people.
A brain is a terrible thing to wash!
