Any "Wild West" places left?
Any "Wild West" places left?
I missed the wild east days in Cambodia by a few years. In the 90s you could apparently pack a gun, do whatever drugs you liked, rent as many hoes as you liked and fund it all with easy English teaching. It was still somewhat free when I was there - you could still smoke cannabis in public for example, but nothing compared to what it apparently was at its best. Are there any places left like Cambodia supposedly was in the 90s?

What about Miles Routledge and his thing of going to Muslim countries? I’m surprised there isn’t a thread about him here.

Re: Any "Wild West" places left?
I don't think there are any. Most Asian countries nowadays will crack open your head hard if you get caught with drugs, that or just have you locked up for a long time. Plus why would people carry a gun in Cambodia? Is it rough up there? Somewhere along the lines thailand might get rid of it's sex tourism image. These days some countries still care about their public image. But for the ones that are purposely f***ing up like America and Canada. Anyone imitating those two countries is a mutha freakin moron.Cornfed wrote: ↑January 9th, 2023, 7:50 amI missed the wild east days in Cambodia by a few years. It was at the time. But in any case, it might be interesting it there was a place where you could do what you wanted.WanderingProtagonist wrote: ↑January 9th, 2023, 4:23 pmPlus why would people carry a gun in Cambodia? Is it rough up there?

Re: Any "Wild West" places left?
Yeah, probably only in countries that have very little law and order in place. Like a lot of those war torn places would probably be like that. But everywhere else no. I use to believe Mexico was like this because of all the cartel stuff that goes on in some parts of the country. And I felt as long as you could pay off the police in Brazil you can practically do whatever up there too.Cornfed wrote: ↑January 9th, 2023, 4:37 pmIt was at the time. Go to Myanmar in Asia or Paraguay In South America.
Myanmar looks similar to how Philippines used to look before globalism messed it up, 90's and 00's. That channel has some hot tourist guides...
They actually have some tits and ass over there...better get there before China or the Homo brigade from the Anglo-sphere gets a hold of it...
I wish I had thought of doing something like this channel when I was living in the Philippines...
Winston should do this then hire someone to edit the video together, I'm sure it would increase his views on YouTube...

Former war-zones are like that, Cambodia is a good example - it's about a post-war situation where people are thinking about how to survive and where nobody cares about laws.Cornfed wrote: ↑January 9th, 2023, 7:50 amI missed the wild east days in Cambodia by a few years. As a foreigner, as long as you have some money, you are welcome, but there is nothing really to enjoy for years until the situation is improving again.
Some impoverished countries also come to my mind, which are not a former war-zone - many remote places in Philippines or also in Bangladesh.... but to stay in such areas is always somehow dangerous for your own life. Also Cambodia was not safe at that time.
Likely Ukraine, if it continues like that, will become such a place in future in a few years, with a lot of destruction everywhere and impoverished population with more women than men...
Rather crazy places? What about Haiti?

If a place that you are describing existed, what kind of activities would you do there?Cornfed wrote: ↑January 9th, 2023, 7:50 amI missed the wild east days in Cambodia by a few years. Papua New Guinea, Somalia, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and maybe Mexico.

Myanmar seems interesting and not as globalized as Thailand.Mr S wrote: ↑January 10th, 2023, 7:57 pmGo to Myanmar in Asia or Paraguay In South America.

True, and it is not so easy to enter Myanmar and stay there for long time, not visa friendly at all.Jackfruits wrote: ↑January 11th, 2023, 1:24 pmthis guy in birma asks hot young women if they wanna be famous and do tourist videos, its not like every birmese girl is out for foreigners
People are nice, but this country has severe political problems. This government is not foreigner friendly.
If you are there and take some pictures they don't like or if you talk too much about certain topics, you will find yourself in serious problems.
It's also not such a cheap place, as much what is needed is imported from Thailand and often sold overpriced.
Myanmar restricts you and you cannot just travel around as you like, many places are off limits to foreigners.
You might also visit Myanmar for a few days by crossing over from Thailand at some border points by feet, but believe me, not much there which is worth to visit....
Laos can be visited easier for a few weeks, no restrictions you can go anywhere, but is also not visafriendly for longstay, an empty place with people and their life-style similar to Thailand.
It is a while ago since I visited Myanmar, but I doubt anything changed. I prefer Thailand....and also Cambodia is better than Myanmar - more visa friendly and welcoming to foreigners....
