Earthquake In Cebu

Post by Taco »

We just had a powerful earthquake hit Cebu about 30 minutes ago, 8:15am Tuesday, October 15.

I came out of the bathroom and everyone started yelling and the house was shaking back and forth for about 2 minutes, scared the shit out of me and made me dizzy too. Doesn't seem to be any damage or injuries that I can tell, I should know more about it later today. Hopefully, no smoking hot Filipinas were injured.

Magnitude 7.4 quake hits Philippines, no tsunami threat

Hey Taco, do u live close to Cebu? I know how that feels cus I've been through some bad ones myself in Taiwan.

I gotta couple of text messages from friends I know who live in Cebu City. Apparently it scared the bejesus outta them. But nobody I know got hurt fortunately. I've only read about 10 deaths up to now.

Glad you and your family are ok! Be careful about the aftershocks.

It seems that the worst of it hit Bohol. We have some land near Jagna and an old concrete house there has apparently been pretty badly damaged...

Thanks for your concern.

I live north of Cebu City. The epicenter was in Bohol. That's a good place for an earthquake because there's not much to destroy on that island. So far, twenty people have been killed and there's supposed to be lots of aftershocks but I can't feel any where I live. Apparently, it was caused by an expat having sex for the first time in 20 years, MSB or massive sperm buildup. lol

I hope everybody is okay. Hopefully that'll scare anymore proponents of western feminism from trying to penetrate the Philippines, especially the Visayas.

Taco: Lmao! By the way, did you guys see the earthquake dramatizations on TV Patrol? Those were GOLD. Kind of like watching animated Lego characters being tossed around in a dollhouse. On national TV. Think I may have lol'd at the time.

Channeling that thought... If I ever start my own TV station, it's going to be like a Bollywood movie: right after a really somber scene, the camera will pan towards the street, and people will spontaneously congregate, dancing and singing in perfect unison as if nothing happened minutes before. With an Indian head bob, of course.

Thanks, I'm fine. However, it did kill about 100 people.

Our house shook back and forth for about two minutes without even creaking. The only sound I could hear was my wife and the neighbors screaming. Were far enough away that not much happened, a big tree at the park fell over that's about it. Nothing seems to surprise Filipinos, they just continue on like nothing happened, I guess there used to it.
