The show gives a very brutally honest view on a lot of things.

It's also quite sad since many of the girls are digging themselves into a financial hole, and end up working in soaplands to pay off their debts.

For the Japanese, their brothels are expensive and they can stay in Japan and make $. Many Korean girls who dig themselves into a money hole cannot do the same at home, and they end up in Japanese brothels, or come to the US to work in massage parlors.

As a sidenote, I've noticed that anime fans tend to be very big manginas. They'll jabber on about how japanese women are still behind the times and need to become more assertive, how female anime characters are too submissive.

From personal experience, the weirdest Asian women that I've ever dated were usually Japanese, and they have really odd tastes in fashion.
