Looks like all hell is breaking loose in Venezuela right now with the Venezuelan government attempting to black out all media coverage:
Can Venezuela's socialist government survive wave of protests?

Venezuela tells CNN journalists to 'get out'

Interesting though that as of today, February 23rd, there is no update from the US government on travel to Venezuela since their general travel warning for Venezuela back on November 22, 2013. This is despite the general consensus that all of the recent trouble in Venezuela started on February 12th.

Columbia would be a much safer choice, which sounds strange. If you go to Venezuela you need to make sure their Immigration service doesn't stamp your passport otherwise you'll be harassed by US Immigration when you go back home. US government and Venezuela government are not on good terms.E Irizarry R&B Singer wrote:Damn. And I wanted to go visit that motherf.ucker. I will have to wait until s.hit simmers down.

Inflation was already popping off before the death of the late Chavez so I was apprehensive a tad before this news. I will never get a VZ stamp on it. I wasn' born yesterday. I really shouldn't have gotten my Bolivia Visa stamped hence staying in the Miami-Dade INT'l Airport detention center for FOUR HOURS. I"m surprised they didn't piss test me.Taco wrote:Columbia would be a much safer choice, which sounds strange. Well, say you have a Cuba stamp. They will try to find out if you spent any money there (which you would have if you entered the country for more than a few hours) and possibly charge you with a crime since Americans are not allowed to support the economy there in anyway. If they see a passport stamp from a nation they don't like, they will likely suspect you if being involved in something illegal and may give you the third degree. They can do pretty much whatever they want.Tsar wrote:Why can a person be detained for a passport stamp?
