I dont get how this economy works. I understand goverment suplies basic goods snd services to some extent but still they dont supply oranges, bananas,shoes,cloths,internet and so on...and these things are not cheap.

As for p4p, Average cost in the street is 20-40CUC for quickie and 40-80CUC for all night. 1CUC=1 USD.

You get more money for renting p***y for 10 minutes than you get for 1 month of hard work. If you were a women why the fk would you do normal job?

In theory, if the economy is closed, the dollar amount wouldn't matter, as the prices would reflect the salaries too. i.e. say a 4 peso cigar or something.
But of course, they lack a lot of those things you mentioned, as they don't produce them.
Another factor seems to be that they don't pay rent, so that would be a big monthly "savings".

There can be a lot of leftist bias in such index of course. It doesn't measure economics alone supposedly but also free time, stress, leisure, "education" or whatnot. Implying that although they have some privations, they lead a simpler more "quality" life.

Some Cubans have told me in FL that although they liked the Disney trip and new car upon landing, they felt stress from all the bills and the rent, and also the lack of time, as many of them end up with two jobs, etc.

I'm not condoning any of this, just trying to analyse.

How could we take 'advantage' of this situation, how about getting permanent residency in Cuba by say marrying local girl and then live on $500 a month like a KING!!Thats 20+ monthly salaries, common sense would tell you its way to go but I haven't heard anyone doing it,plus you get basics supplied by government which is a bonus.

The things that are scarce you still have to get with dollars under the table. that is, if you still want to consume as you do now.
Also they control who can buy what (foreigner vs local) AFAIK.
And I would guess to obtain such "residency" you'd have to relinquish your stuff to the state, but just my guess.

In a way what you propose is what some of us are [about to] doing in China; but it's doable since now it's more open, although you still have remnants, as local-only hotel rates etc. We definitely can $ave there in every aspect.

Well of course it sucks for those making those minimum third world wages. But at the same time nobody want's to do 20-40 whores a month either.
So a chump can at least once in a while blow some steam. Compare that to the American chump for whom it's outright illegal.

Well corruption and the corresponding inequality have to do with this in those countries.
But still your price range might be off as i'm sure it starts at $15 for just ok quality in many places (well at least in southamerica).
