Medellin Grocries seem cheaper than in USA
When I visited Medellin Colombia the groceries seem noticeably cheaper than in Central Florida USA. Does anyone living in Medellin who moved there from the USA know roughly what percent cheaper they are?

Re: Medellin Grocries seem cheaper than in USA
I wasn't in Medellin when I was in Colombia but yes, food was cheaper eating out as well as groceries.
You could buy breakfast of eggs, arepa, local cheese and a cafe con leche for 5000 CLP and it was enough. Menu was probably 7000 CLP and it was a soup, rice, egg, meat and a simple dessert - I wouldn't eat it every day but it was very cost efficient.
Fruit and veg are cheap in the supermarkets and local markets. Good choice of produce too - lots of quality deli meats and cheese from Spain. The supermarkets were excellent as I find supermarkets in South America really excellent and a lot better than supermarkets in the UK which are usually dire unless you shop at the high end and even still...
The food is quality too, I have always lost a lot of weight in Colombia eating three times a day, mind you, that might be having to do with walking uphill both ways as in Colombia and the cafetero region has a ton of hills for you to keep fit (and lose weight).

Is this what this site has become now? Somewhere for men to come and talk about grocery shopping?
