Latin countries you can be rich in with a small fortune?

Which South Americans countries could you become rich or the equivalent of a nice life with a small fortune of U.S dollars?

My guess is that if you want cheap food, cheap labor, cheap housing, you need to look for small towns and not too many gringos. Plus no active narco gangs or kidnapping gangs.

Some place like Guanajuato, Mexico might work.
Or many other places in Mexico. Small towns in the mountains with no narco problems.

Do an internal HA google search on Mexico. You'll find some threads.

If you're focused on South America PROPER, and want a good cheap city in a libertarian tax haven country, then Asuncion, Paraguay might work.

As soon as they implode the $ all that is over with, the $ will not last forever. This is why we are trying to get the uninformed to inform themselves about the ultimate con game which is the current monetary system.

The US would not be good to stay in during the dollar collapse. Basically, a person's best solution would be to see if he has other assets than dollars such as properties and/or metals (if available) or have investments in other currencies. I think though if you are able to make money locally that is close to what you are able to live back home, then you should have no problem when the dominos fall.

Some people here in Europe suggest the Euro will collapse, and some of you over there
in the US say the dollar will collapse.

Instead of stating doomsday scenarios, how about providing solutions, like what currencies
are solid right now? The Swiss franc? The Canadian dollar? Any ideas would be welcome.

I don't understand this whole obsession with precious metals. It's much better to buy yourself
a plot of land or even make a little vegetable garden so if there's a collapse, at least
you have food to eat instead of shiny pieces of metal.

It's a choice between hunkering down vs. bugging out. In my family's case, my grandparents decided to bug out of Manchuria, and at the time the Chinese currency suffered huge inflation due to the on-going civil war, so you had to pay in gold to secure a boat passage to Taiwan.

Why English speaking? Isn't DR a much better value-for-money than Jamaica where prices are high and service quality and convenience tend to be poor. Even Cuba might be cheaper than Jamaica I think.
