I don't know if @kangarunner posted this yet or not, but here is his response on YouTube to @HouseMD, who claimed that there's no reason to leave America since you can't do anything abroad that you can't do in the West, which is a strange claim.

This is really a strange claim.
I cannot comment about USA, but only about Europe.

I left Central Europe for Japan more than 40 years ago, but I am also spending my time, especially now after retirement in Thailand in my second home.

I never came back to Europe. I did not regret to try a second start in Asia after I failed in Europe to achieve a reasonable average living standard.

From all information I have seen so far, Europe might still be a little bit better than USA (for example medical fees, health insurance), but to be honest, not so much.

Basically the same problems, like restrictions whatever you want to do to improve your life, also contact with other people, especially to find a nice female partner. Problems with overpriced housing regardless if rent or sale. A lot of street criminality....

Of course, it depends on your situation, you cannot choose where you are born, who are your parents etc. For some people USA/Europe might be the paradise and it will be true that they don't miss anything in their place. But not everybody is in such a lucky position.
