I am not being overoptimistic, just saying that Juan de la Cruz isn't that worse off than Mario Rossi or Michel Dubois, when his weight on the public system is considered. UK vs Italy or Spain), so by the same token some countries are emerging more slowly than others.
You know, I wish it would come sooner. I have oodles of friends who did not finish highschool and are in their 20ies and they are all asking me to help them attend TESDA and all that. And they have to pay for TESDA.

TESDA should be free in my opinion, just like in Cebu where they have courses by city gov't. These are all free.

Here in the USA, all such courses are either free or you have student loans and you finish them and start working. The same should be there.

I was also with T bolis in Mindanao and only 20% finished HS. They have no money to pay fees. Is it the same in Italy and France? I don't think so.
Maybe u shld b careful about wht u wish for. If Phils really does move up the education and economic ladder, if just a portion of the new wealth and capital manages to trickle down to a large share of the masses, and that becomes a trend, u may just find yourself cut-out of the loop. Phils. has been a great place for u to live your poly-amorous lifestyle because there r so many people here who can benefit from associating with you and the help u can give. But as that changes and your help is no longer so desperately needed by so many, wht will u do then? Where will u go to continue living your dream? Wht countries r left after Phils?

I've been told that 35 years ago, S. Korea was a great place to live your kinda lifestyle on a very modest budget. Now even a lotta rich guys often have to look offshore for good female company and even P4P venues are mainly for locals (often off-limits to foreigners). Brazil used to be great too. But it's changed so much in just a few short years thanks to robust economic development and a huge new emerging middle class.

It's great if u can be selflessly happy about such changes. But I think some guys fail to comprehend what may come with large scale economic development in a poorer country - more feminism, smaller families, less social connection between people, more selfishness, much pickier women, reduction in quality and quantity of low cost P4P, etc. So as it happens, they become bitter and disillusioned in their adopted country - esp. if they have not settled down into a LT committed relationship.

Mr S,

Reading your posts, I am aware of your mental caliber. I too have cautioned my friends on this animal-spirits economic euphoria. Ill keep my opinion on this silent now except that I am of the mind that the debate is a matter of theology not just economics.

I agree with the writers various insights on the Philippines. The blog presents the truth about various matters in a less confrontational format. The various problems PI has won't fix themselves anytime soon, if ever in our lifetimes. It will take MANY generations not just positive economic info in the present being parroted by talking heads in politics, media and opinion pieces in newspapers to fix anything.

I'm done trying to explain the Philippines in this forum as those who don't wish to know or hear will just ignore what doesn't match with their perceived reality, so they can just go ahead and pick and choose whatever meets their fancy without rationality, I don't care to enlighten them anymore. Those who wish to know the truth and can make critical conclusions based on rational facts should read blogs like those of the society of honor and the others mentioned previously in this chat as well as others to gleam a greater picture of the true reality of things in PI, as well as where it is truly heading, these truths however are not the wishfull whispers of a dreamers fantasy and may be disturbing to those who have been sidetracked to only believe and perceive the positive sides of humanity, rather than the negative or dark side.

Perhaps, perhaps not. Many distinguished writers on HA are parting ways or lessening their participation due to various retardedness getting out of hand on this forum, the crash helmets and tin foil hats are being worn aplenty.

There is little joy or appreciation to participate on this forum anymore, as it has departed for sail, going to regions where other irate armchair admiral Western males have already chartered and landed. Just as Columbus initially set sail to find a new route to India and ran into the Americas on the way over, this forum has run aground as well before reaching the lands of 'Happier Abroad' dropping anchor to allow its armchair seamen to write about almost every other subject that continues the dehumanization of the Western male plight in Anglo run countries, instead of truly freeing him from bondage. They are dismissing or disengaging from conversing the real positives & negatives of proper overseas travel by free men and buckaneers with their loads of knowledge, expectations and various INSIGHTS on 'living happier abroad' in the new global world of unimpeded traveling, these free men shan't be coming back I'm afraid. The truth, in reality, is only sought by the few not the many; and far few actually live these truths and thus would know their self-evidence.

If anyone is interested mguy's blog posting's article was partly based on this original article in the Huffington Post:
