Do all guys dream of being playboys?
Do all guys dream of being playboys?
Do all guys dream of being playboys, or at least fantasize about it? Or are we just projecting ourselves onto everyone else?
If so, why are many guys disgusted at the notion of "sexual variety" or the playboy lifestyle? Are they just pretending? Would those guys become a playboy if they could?
If not, why not?
Also, why is it that rock stars and star athletes will live the playboy lifestyles, but not rich CEO's like Bill Gates or politicians?
How come it seems that tennis stars prefer monogamous marriage over being a playboy?
For example, how come Andre Agassi married Steffi Graf, who looks masculine and isn't even very attractive, when he could have just been a playboy in Las Vegas and sleep with a different hot girl every night? Isn't that stupid?

They have been told all their lives that they should be ashamed of their sexuality. Couple this with the inherent western male need to appease women, and no man would DARE tell a women that he is into "sexual variety" (This does not apply to bad boy alphas, because women spread their legs to them no matter what they say or do).
It is in their nature, and many indeed do so when they go to countries where it is not practically illegal for men to have/think about sex, and where the women do not practice extreme hypergamy.Winston wrote:Would those guys become a playboy if they could?
Some very thought-provoking questions. I think the very nature of the work of said professions could cause the difference. CEO's and politicians require a lot of brain power, so if they lived a playboy lifestyle it would distract them on their jobs. Rock stars and athletes can do a performance, and then go and get laid that night.Winston wrote:Also, why is it that rock stars and star athletes will live the playboy lifestyles, but not rich CEO's like Bill Gates or politicians? I wrote my first article about girls when I was 15 years old. It was a dating guide that was hosted on geocities (remember those?).
I have always wanted to be a playboy, and I think it was what got me into researching dating material at a younger age than most. One of the reasons ill be living outside the USA is that I don't think I can achieve being a playboy here.
Winston, what do you mean project to other men?
If you mean "do I think all men want to be playboys?" I think most of my friends just want a chick that is the best deal possible. I don't think most men view being a playboy as favorable, or at least they revert to beta tendencies when they land a good one.
Most of my friends do entertain the need for sexual variety, but they answer to a different value that binds their loyalty to a chick. It's a form of self-control to them I suppose. I think they just want to settle and follow the pre-determined life path.

I believe most men would naturally embrace the playboy lifestyle or at least accept sexual variety in their lives if given nearly unlimited options. There are rare exceptions..some men may value certain moral or religious beliefs beyond natural desires but I think this is rare. There are a lot of people who hypocritically embrace the concept of morality.Winston wrote:Do all guys dream of being playboys, or at least fantasize about it? CEOs and politicians have to maintain a public facade Winston. What the voting or shareholders think of them means a lot. If their competency is questioned then it could mean the end of their career. There is stigma in being a philandering playboy type because it's assumed your mind is on the p***y more than it is on work. The reality is a lot of politicians and CEOs are whoremongers too they just do it discreetly. Why do you think those elite class call girl agencies can stay in business when they charge like 2,000 a night? Heide Fleiss' services weren't for the average joe. Also, why is it that rock stars and star athletes will live the playboy lifestyles, but not rich CEO's like Bill Gates or politicians?
A lot of powerful men are also attracted to successful people especially if they are in the same career. I'm sure Agassi had his fill of hot groupie sex but it probably gets boring plus there's a lot of drama and scheming with these women. Remember Michael Jordan slept with lots of groupies and ended up having a paternity suit filed against him. These girls do things like hide sperm and try to impregnate themselves to get rich. Plus celebrities aren't immune to false rape charges and other financial shake downs..remember what happened to Kobe Bryant? The white hoebag he slept with had sperm from multiple guys in her p***y just from that night. For example, how come Andre Agassi married Steffi Graf, who looks masculine and isn't even very attractive, when he could have just been a playboy in Las Vegas and sleep with a different hot girl every night? Isn't that stupid?
I'm too different from most men. I have always felt as if most women are not worth my time, attention, or my love. I also knew that God does not want me to live my life like that, so I tried to be patient and try to understand more about that. My dreams have always been toward meeting a real "Helen of Troy". The woman of all women, kind of quality. I have always been a one woman man, and I hate wasting energy chasing more than one woman. After my divorce I had to teach myself how to even do that, and I did not enjoy it either. When I found that my wife was the woman I have been looking for all my life basically, I got rid of all loose ends so quickly it made their heads spin and made them all very angry with me. It was a mess getting rid of a few of them.
I only enjoy focusing my energy like this, I feel at ease with peace and calm, despite having Adult ADD.

I think your desire to be a playboy hinges on how much luck you've had with women in the past. If you have not had consistent luck dating pretty women then you'll have a perpetual "kid in the candy store" mentality and you'll dream of being a playboy.
But if you have had good luck dating pretty women the entire notion of being a playboy is kinda "been there done that" and you'll be seeking the one woman that makes you really content and happy. I also think age plays into the equation. Once you approach middle age, the Hugh Hefner thoughts fall by the wayside. Too much work and effort is involved and if I can find the one I'll be much happier.
So as they say, to each his own...........

I mean that we project our desires onto others by assuming that they have the same desires and fantasies that we do. We all assume that others think and feel the way we do, even if they do. It's a fallacy. So I'm wondering if that applies here when we assume that all guys want sexual variety or to be playboys.mguy wrote: Winston, what do you mean project to other men?
What about guys who are devout Christians and claim to be very strict about keeping sex within marriage? Do they fantasize about being playboys?
Why doesn't Bill Gates become a playboy? Why doesn't he use his billions of dollars to get sexual variety, rather than buying another yacht, house or land, to please his wife, whom he probably got bored with long ago? Why is he letting all his money go to waste?

One hot woman with a strong sexual appetitie can keep a man busy, if he lets her. The variety of experience you can have with one woman can satisfy the need for newness.Winston wrote:Do all guys dream of being playboys, or at least fantasize about it? In my experience, the desire for additional women arose only when she began treating me like shit, 2 or 3 kids later. I didn't get bored, I got rejected.
So today I have advised a woman or two, that polygamy is natural, and that they should act accordingly. I.e. keep their man satisfied and happy, always remembering that someone else is available if he chooses.

Yeah, "wasting" his money on things like real estate, when he could throw it at gold diggers.Winston wrote:I mean that we project our desires onto others by assuming that they have the same desires and fantasies that we do. Maybe he thinks with the larger head -- and figured if women didn't want him "then", he doesn't want their variety (of new disease strains) "now".

Gates is not good looking at all. He knows anyone wanting him only wants his money. His wife ain't pretty either. Barely better than him. Their personalities seem to be perfect matches too, because anyone that knows him can tell you that you need like 10 layers of thick skin to wear while talking to him. They built their empire from scratch and it shows. They do whatever they like together too. What if Gates is not a sexual beast? What if his equipment does not work very well? Also, he is so cerebral that he probably can see a scam coming from several miles away.
BUT, sex is the undisputed champion. It is unbeaten.
