In general, I think that spending a good deal of time watching college or professional sports on TV is a bad idea. I think it is among the biggest distractions that keep people from thinking about those things that are really important. What is even MORE annoying is seeing a female that is obsessive over sports, a specific team and the whole American Sports lifestyle (beer, pizza, chicken wings, wearing jerseys, etc). Even if she doesn't look the part, I find that this obsession makes any woman unattractive. It's always a disqualifier for me...no matter what. This eliminates a large percentage of females in the USA. Some men think that finding a woman that likes sports as much as they do is a great thing. They see a benefit of this support and connection. I beg to differ....anyone else feel this way? This is one of the things I like about going abroad...I am not bombarded by sports. Sure, soccer is very popular in some other countries, but it doesn't seem like people build their entire lives around "watching the game".

Athletic women make shitty girlfriends and wives and a lot of them are lesbians too, they can't cook, clean, do laundry or anything practical. I remember the most athletic girl in my High School is now divorced 4 times. I noticed none of the NBA players want to date the WNBA players for obvious reasons.

Don't go to central or Latin America then. Where women are just as big of fans as the men when it comes to soccer. Even the poorest of the poor have jerseys and will root for their team when they play. If they watch from home they'll play bachata until their team score then they turn up the radio to hear then announcement.

European women aren't into it as much as the men are but when it word cup time every if their country is in, its always a fever pitch

I have to disagree with you about athletic women Taco. Girls who like to watch sports are one thing, but girls who work out and stay in shape are often solid gold. They know how to set long term goals and stick with them, they can generally cook tau and healthy food (you don't stay in shape eating garbage!) and they appreciate things other than shopping and television unlike most AW. The caveat is that no woman will be with a man they don't respect, so you best be in shape as well or she will kick your pudgy ass to the curb.

Athletic women are the best AW, but they are still AW after all.

^^^Good points. I was speaking of those people (men and especially women) that schedule their lives around sports on TV. However, I have had the misfortune of dealing with female college basketball players on a daily basis as I had to serve them food while going to college myself. While I do agree that female basketball players are often a pain in the ass (rude, entitled bitches), I think all women should be somewhat athletic. They SHOULD take care of themselves physically just as I do...it's very important for health and well-being. I've heard of women that try to keep their men out of the gym because they feel insecure about themselves. Instead of going to the gym themselves, they do argue and sulk when their man insists on going to the gym regularly. This is also a disqualifier. When I hit the gym hard and regularly, it makes my gf want to go as well. She doesn't want to be the "fat gf". She would never let herself go to the point of obesity, but I need to her to as lean as the day we met....at very least.

Anyway, back on topic. MOST of the women that spend a lot of time watching sports on TV are NOT playing any sports OR going to the gym. They sit on the couch with the guys and get fat together. This is what drives me nuts. They will yell out "WE WON" when some team across the country wins in a sport these people have never played in their lives.

What's even worse is when these uneducated people treat Presidential Elections in much the same way as they do with sports, but that is an entirely different topic....

I went to a college in California that had a pretty good women's basketball team and all of the women were manly and masculine. They almost looked transgender to me and I only saw them with female girlfriends out on campus. The women are probably taking testosterone, but I digress.

I was on the track team at the time and knew some of the football players and none of us wanted to date the girls from the women's basketball team.

At any school the women's track are where you will find the hottest girls.

Track and Field, Volleyball, Tennis, Gymnastics, etc are where there are attractive, physically fit girls. I agree...very few attractive basketball players. They are too tall and often too masculine. Many would argue that basketball is a man's sport anyway. Who even watches that? Gymnasts are often short, but I still find many to be attractive. I even find girls that do Cross Fit competitions to be attractive in many cases...as long as they aren't taking testosterone. Testosterone use becomes pretty evident after a woman uses it for as little as just a few months, depending on the dose and the woman. The worst part is that the side effects NEVER go away...they will physically ALWAYS be a little more manly because of it. The females that don't care about that are Feminist to the extreme and/or Lesbian IMO.

Absolutely correct! I want to puke when I see women being happy about sports on TV, putting football team stickers on their cars. Even worse, car license plates frames like: "Family divided: Red Sox vs Poopers". WHO FREAKING GIVES A SHIT? People don't have a life, but rather live a life of their team on TV. Pizza, beer and wings - how is that freaking HEALTHY and goes along with being a sports fan? It is actually ANTI-SPORTS in every way!

Now I agree with HouseMD, girls that actually PLAY sports (besides those tall basketball manly looking ugly freaks) are gold. They have over-the-top standards sometimes, but I give them respect for taking care of themselves. It is much harder than buying a jersey and yell "Go Poopers" in front of your TV.

Because I don't give a shit about watching (yes, watching) sports, I eliminate about 80% of American public in my social circle. Sad, but I am just not understanding how watching some dudes score improves my life or life of people around me. Now IF people ask me to go play sports, exercise or at least hang out playing something like chess, ping-pong or racketball - awesome. I will join and be happy about it. At least it is some activity that is useful and fun.

How about women who are both in sports and military?

Back in my college days I recall observing a few women in the Marine Corp ROTC. They were solidly built, muscular, athletic and very competitive with men. Hardly attractive and feminine.

At a interservice picnic, there was a Tug O' War event where about five Marine Corp ROTC women took on TEN Air Force ROTC guys and not only pulled them into the mud pit, but out of it as well.

One Air Force ROTC guy walked away grumbling, "That goes to show Marines builds MEN with no matter what they have." LOL.
