I think this whole problem started with Vietnam. The U.S. government learned that it could never win a war that was unpopular with the American public. So, ever since then, they've been trying to make war and the military more lovable and politically correct.

Here in bizarro land (Thailand), a ladyboy was arrested the other day for putting a gash requiring 13 stitches in the forehead of an American who had impolitely declined the offer of a drink together. The wound was delivered with a spiked heel.

I'm trying to get a mental picture of this episode, reported in the Pattaya English weekly. Unless the American was a midget, or bent over, this was a seriously impressive kick. Don't mess with trannies.
