Mein Kampf to be released in Germany first time since WWII

“This book is too dangerous for the general public,” library historian Florian Sepp warned as he carefully laid a first edition of “Mein Kampf” — Adolf Hitler’s autobiographical manifesto of hate — on a table in a restricted reading room.

Nevertheless, the book that once served as a kind of Nazi bible, banned from domestic reprints since the end of World War II, will soon be returning to German bookstores from the Alps to the Baltic Sea.

The prohibition on reissue for years was upheld by the state of Bavaria, which owns the German copyright and legally blocked attempts to duplicate it. But those rights expire in December, and the first new print run here since Hitler’s death is due out early next year. The new edition is a heavily annotated volume in its original German that is stirring an impassioned debate over history, anti-Semitism and the latent power of the written word.

The book’s reissue, to the chagrin of critics, is effectively being financed by German taxpayers, who fund the historical society that is producing and publishing the new edition. Rather than a how-to guidebook for the aspiring fascist, the new reprint, the group said this month, will instead be a vital academic tool, a 2,000-page volume packed with more criticisms and analysis than the original text.

Still, opponents are aghast, in part because the book is coming out at a time of rising anti-Semitism in Europe and as the English and other foreign-language versions of “Mein Kampf” — unhindered by the German copyrights — are in the midst of a global renaissance.

Regardless of the academic context provided by the new volume, critics say the new German edition will ultimately allow Hitler’s voice to rise from beyond the grave.

As I recall, the idea was that Social Democracy (a well-used term of the time) was a plot to establish Communism, and Communism was a plot to overthrow all non-Jewish nation-states. Jewish bankers were said to be behind the Allied war effort in WWI, and Jews were said to have lead the munitions strike at the end of that war, leading to Germany's defeat. As to evidence for this, I don't think there was much, but that is understandable given that the book was a polemic dictated while pacing about in a prison courtyard in the 1920s. It is not as if he could have provided library references or Internet links.

Great points Winston, but all this is kind of a straw-man, if i can label it that. It still pushes the idea that "the devil" H. started WWII directly.
It was Great Britain that declared war when convenient, whereas no one did zilch as the soviet union invaded seven countries in the previous years. Selective morality, in the collusion of capitalism and communism for a common goal. Like you say, "think about that"
I've been wanting to get the book "World Defeat" that supposedly talks in detail about all the bias against Germany. written by a Mexican journalist (Borrego i believe) about 40 years ago. But i think it's hard to come by and it's only in spanish.

More relevant to the OP, another book that would be good to know whether it's blacklisted or not is Feder's Manifest Against Interest. It raises some excellent points, although Feder was a bit too collectivist for my taste. There's almost no printed editions left but it's online of course.

Germany would have annihilated Europe, If America did not interfere. They were building guns this big. Most of these scientist then went to America and created Military Industrial complex. Any mainstream historian will tell you that it was Russia that defeated Nazi Germany, not America. This is well known among academics in history. Only Hollywood continues to perpetuate the myth that the US beat Nazi Germany.

Also, the light and dark forces must balance each other out, as depicted in the Ying Yang symbol. Opposing forces balance each other out. That's how the dualistic universe works. Therefore, it's not reasonable for you to always posit that the ET's and AI's that run our world must all be dark forces or evil. There has to be some forces of light out there too. You should acknowledge them too. But you seem to always focus on the dark forces.
