What do you guys think of the gay marriage decision?

I am personally mixed. While I do think that LGBT individuals should have the same state privileges as everyone else, I wished they went the contract route (being an anarcho capitalist). So in that regard I am happy for my friend who are from the gay community (the one friend is also an anarcho capitalist as well). But what has bothered me is the right seems to not notice what is going on and fails to take any preventative measure from turning into a caustic pool that will harm religious liberties. Basically they are talking about fire and brimstone. As for liberals, they are gloating and being all politically correct about it. It seems like in other areas, even if they were to (or did) legalize gay marriage, they would not antagonize tradition (such as was the case in Mexico). It also sees like since many Latin countries have separated the ceremony from the legal aspects, it would not be as much of an issue if they legalized it. In addition, some countries like Chile, they record marriage, not license it. It just seems like even if gay marriage happened there, it would be for the better and not result in 500 lawsuits against Christians. It seems like the government is trying to control, not grant freedom. Any thoughts?

Obviously pretending that two perverts performing serial masturbatory acts on each other are married is insane and the fact that the supreme court has ruled that this was always the law and people actually take them seriously proves that America has descended into naked corruption and tragic farce. It will be interesting to see what the new frontier in degeneracy now becomes - perhaps compulsory interracial marriages for white females, faggots/pedos marrying small boys, people marrying farm animals for big dick etc. The insanity will only get worse until decent men get a pair and put a stop to this bullshit.

I don't know if enough american men have the balls...what would it take? Civil solutions are no longer possible. Mass strikes? I think only armed revolt will change the outcome...and don't know if there are enough to do that . the times that Jefferson spoke of are here...the Republic NP longer functions and despots dominate along with the baboon bread and circuses class. I don't know if there is enough of a moral core left to save.

It cheapens the meaning of marriage.

So far in USA things that are still taboo are.
1. Pedophile
2.bestiality
3. raping or abusing a woman(only a woman ) if a woman or man abuses a man or rape a man , he wasn't man enough to protect himself.
4. At least in the America media being racist towards blacks, gay or jews being sexist is wrong but still ok to make ching chong jokes and native Indians don't count since they are almost wiped out anyway.

I can see in the future maybe maybe bestiality will be OK because you have some strong animal rights activist that might cross that line and say there is deep connection. (I'm being flippant here.)

What I'm saying is at one time being gay or transgender was really taboo. Same with inter-racial relationship at one time still it is to some degree only if it involves non-white guys with white girls.

Everything is being permissive but yet in America with gay rights become stronger and women rights becoming stronger ..we have the sinking of what is traditional family. It's like hand and hand....the reason why some Americans were able to accept the gay rights movement is because of the high divorce rate, immorality of sexuality and women movement.

Personally...because of the high divorce marriage already lost it's meaning so therefore let gay people get married because it doesn't have the same meaning as it used to.

Another thing I found interesting is that even in Europe, there is not as much of a push for legalization. I understand they have partnerships and whatnot, but still it seems odd that they have been unscathed, considering their general liberalism. I wonder if state passed civil unions if it would have been as big of an issue?

Another issue is companies supporting this. I mean in the past, with the minor exception of Pepsi supporting African American Rights, few companies would wade into social issues. But with this it seems like every startup with a heartbeat is trying to be "gay friendly". I am guessing spending power in all honesty, but open to other explanations. Also, Winston should chime in. Need some of his brain droppings to fertilize the mental lawn XD .

I don't see this as a threat to the institution of marriage and family. Marriage is pretty much a joke here anyway, and most gay people don't actually intend to get married anyway, so much as wanting the symbolic acceptance of having the choice. Fine by me.
