Call of Duty Creator Headed To Divorce Court
The creator of the massively successful video game franchise Call of Duty is preparing to engage in his very own first-person battle.
Vincent Zampella, whose game has grossed over $11billion in retail sales since its release in 2003, is headed to divorce court.
His wife Brigitte cites irreconcilable differences as the reason behind their split after 18 years of marriage and is asking for primary physical custody of the couple's three minor children as well as spousal support in documents obtained by TMZ.
Ms. Zampella could also wind up getting one of the largest divorce settlements in history as the couple does not have a prenuptial agreement and lives in California, where all assets attained during a couple's marriage are split equally.
It is unclear just how much Mr. Zampella, 45, is worth, but it is known that he and his partner Jason West received a substantial payout over ownership rights of their game after filing a $125million lawsuit in 2010 against Activision, the publisher of Call of Duty.

Re: Call of Duty Creator Headed To Divorce Court
I'm always baffled that in these situations there was no provision for the wife to accidentally slip over in the shower, accidentally violently slash herself to death while shaving her legs or whatever. Not that I would ever advocate breaking any law, but with this amount of money at stake, you’d think there would be certain interested parties. Perhaps there are, and that is the explanation. Still, weird.

It would be so ironic if his wife suggested video game playing was a factor in the divorce.
