Jamesbond you could be right!!! But I really hope not. However, in addition to Saudi Arabia wanting to enter Syria, Turkey (a NATO country) has already attacked the Kurdish and Syrian forces in the northern part of the country. Although they are operating under the pretext of fighting against Dasesh (Arabic for ISIS), the REAL aim of both nations is to OVERTHROW ASSAD which would further isolate IRAN (Syria's ally). Jamesbond, I hope that the U.S. doesn't commit large numbers of GROUND TROOPS long term in Syria to help aid or bailout either the Saudis, ISIS/Syrian rebels, or NATO member Turkey. These soldiers might think that they are "protecting their country" to back up Saudi Arabia & ISIS because it's what they were told to do & doing what they were told to do seems to always equal "protecting their country" in their minds. Thing is, something can't just be attached as a "rider" & then not be there- adding one action to a bunch of others doesn't make it evaporate out of existence. Another thing is that occupational doesn't mean fictional, so "just doing their job" doesn't somehow isolate their actions from reality.

You don't learn how to fight a war by just reading textbooks, exercises are critical and must be done with some regularity to keep troops in their maximum state of readiness. This is precisely why everyone that actually knows anything about military exercises laughed their asses off at the people who thought it was some kind of conspiracy, you're just people who have no concept of military training or strategy.
