Fascinating cultural enrichment
Fascinating cultural enrichment
I have just watched, through a gap in my curtains, a bunch of Muslims go and use an outside tap to wash their hands, feet and face. It is like something out of the Old Testament. I wonder if showering would occur to them. They are probably here temporarily, so the thread title was not meant to be sarcastic. It really is interesting.

Did they pray after washing?
I have seen that too.
Why not ask them next time?

Indonesians typically take two or three baths a day, but they go through a ritual of washing their face, ears, hands and feet before prayer since that is what their religion teaches the to do. I think it's partly symbolic.Cornfed wrote:I have just watched, through a gap in my curtains, a bunch of Muslims go and use an outside tap to wash their hands, feet and face. The guys are supposed to wash their junk after they go the urinal. Urinals in Indonesia often drip a bit of water for that purpose. Sit-down or squat toilets generally have a hose, bidet, or faucet with bucket and dipper beside them.

Yeah, that is probably what they were doing, but shortened versions of it. Enriching.
