This is an interesting study that showed women will rank a guy higher in attractiveness if he makes a lot of money. Also, women will rank a guy lower in attractiveness if he is good looking but makes very little money.

I'm not sure you're right. It may be that the resource seeking part of the brain in females is directly attached to the sexual attraction part of the brain just as in pigeons the part of the brain that senses an object coming towards them is known to be directly attached to the part of the brain that flaps their wings. If you throw a ball at a pigeon it will automatically fly. It may be that if you present a man to a female who will give her resources at his whim then she will just be automatically sexually attracted to him. Of course the ability to ass-rape him in the divorce court won't be sexually attractive to her. Robbers don't generally respect their victims.

I will agree that it's conceivable that there could be an automatic response taking place to a stimulus that can potentially affect her survival. I think that may be a different thing from sexual attraction. And the pigeon is neither attracted nor repulsed by balls necessarily, but simply responding to the stimulus of motion.
And that's about as far as I can talk on the science of the brain without showing ignorance.

What I can say based on what I've seen is that money falls short in comparison to looks when it comes to women's (and men's) sexual behavior. When a woman cheats on her spouse or romantic partner by having a one-night stand with a fellow she barely knows, which is more common/likely -- that it was an ugly fellow flashing some cash in front of her, or that it was a poor fellow with a hot body and face?

There can be different reasons for sexual attractiveness. I find reasonably hot intelligent & likeable older females attractive and young dumb sluts attractive for largely different reasons.

Just a while ago I encountered a hideous looking white man, pasty, skinny-fat and obviously testosterone deficient, walking by me with a young Indonesian woman by his side. She was very cute. Why was she with him? Visa. He's probably not even particularly wealthy, but has the passport to a nation she would deem desirable.

If women were truly picky and only went after ugly dudes if they were particularly wealthy, 90% of sexpats in Asia would never get their dicks wet, ever. I mean how much does an English teacher in China or Japan actually make? lol

Women are more looks oriented than men, but they are also more willing to treat sex like a business and smile even when they despise the customer. If they ever get the upper hand, and no longer have to smile to get what they want, bad news for such former customers. In other words, don't marry golddgiggers from poor countries and bring them back to the USA.

Discussions like this are overly simplistic. Women's tastes in men change according to where they are in their cycles. That is why girls who might find you repulsive in one encounter will end up sleeping with you in the next.

Also, their tastes in men change according to where they are in their stage of womanhood. Women in their thirties sleep with and marry men who they could not bear to look at in their twenties. That is because their attractiveness has declined and their needs have changed. A single woman goes from hedonistic when they are young and beautiful, to hypergamous when men can provide resources, to bossy/dominant when all of their sexiness has left the station at about 40. Older women who stay married do not have to become dominant if they have their needs met in marriage however. They stay in they advanced hypergamous stage.

The problem is women are too stupid to understand this let alone explain it. This is why men stay in the dark about women all their lives.
