How much debt are you in?

Post by yick »

I have no debt, I don't even know what my credit score is back home.

I have decent savings and am not living in a 'cost of living crisis' like many back home.

I buy what I want and when I want - for sure I am not buying speedboats and daily cocaine but my needs are simple that don't need bank loans or credit cards. It helps that I don't have wife and kids and a car (which is debt on wheels) and am going to buy a place in Latin America with my savings so I am mortgage free.

What about you? Congrats if you are debt free.

No debt, no loans etc. and retired about 6 years ago, not young anymore but so far healthy and fit, no problems at all, nothing to complain, happy daily life.

Not rich but also far away from being poor. I have reasonable savings and a fairly high retirement allowance and good health insurance for life, I am also owner of our condominium unit in Japan with large balcony and garage for 2 cars), and I have also two condo units (1 small one in the city center, 1 more comfortable one with large swimmingpool near Jomtien Beach) in Pattaya in Thailand - I also have a motorcycle and 2 cars (1 family car and 1 small 4WD) in Japan, and a small motorcycle in Thailand.

Fairly good life between Japan and Thailand and I have also family, wife living with me and 2 adult daughters and 2 grandchildren (living in Japan but not with us) and 1 Filipina fosterdaughter (living in Cebu).

Mine was forgiven, the only good thing Biden ever did for me and I still hate him. Trump though, he sure as f**k wouldn't have done that.

in fact, I have a lot of debt, because I spend a lot of money on shopping, but I do not regret it

Being debt-free is an inspiring way to live. I’m also working on staying out of debt. I also want to live within my means and save up for the things I want, without the burden of loans or credit cards. And I appreciate how the frandsen bank customer service has been so helpful and responsive. It makes managing finances easier and less stressful, so I hope to achieve my goal soon.

I never paid my student debt. I've got a hold on my transcript for an unpaid fee. I'm glad it's only a couple hundred bucks. Once I get that transcript, I can finally finish my degree online and can teach English. I'm just hoping that English teaching jobs will be around for the next 20 years.

They should be for a good while yet!
