I don't understand some men's levels of utter desperation. Yes, it's true that, in a war-torn, recession-stricken country it might be marginally easier to flash the dollar and woo a hot girl. One has to also look at the (many) negatives out there: not only men but also women are rendered more cynical, brutal even, by the circumstances. If the chance of being scammed, beaten up or worse are X during a normal life, they become 4X in the current conditions.

Russia is not a super safe country. But if you have good street smarts and common sense, you should be fine. Tucker Carlson was there and had no problems. But yeah if you are American you may be treated with skepticism. However, I have a Taiwanese passport too, so I could always use that to enter Russia. However, I heard that the KGB have a file on me so they know who I am already. A Russian guy I befriended from a marriage agency in Russia told me one time when we had a drink together that he saw my file in the KGB office. It didn't say anything good or bad about me, just had basic info.
