Why do truthers always say "America is the last bastion of freedom" if other countries are freer than America?

Why do truthers always say "America is the last bastion of freedom" if other countries are freer than America?

Post by Winston »

Have you noticed these things about America that no one dares to mention?

1. If you say that other countries have more freedom than America people look at you like you just said the earth is flat. Why is that a crazy thing to say? What if I said that in England? Would people also look bewildered? Do English people think America is the land of the free? The thing is anyone can put on a backpack and travel the world and see that other countries are freer. So why is it taboo to say if it's easy to test and verify my claim? That's sort of a reality breakdown. A real soul should be able to see the obvious.

2. How come everyone in the truth movement says that America is the last bastion of freedom and that if America loses its freedom then the whole world will too? That assumes that every other country is a dictatorship with no freedom. Only people who have never been abroad think that. No one who has traveled the world like my late friend Kinga freespirit, thinks that. But every truthers assumes that. Even Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones does. No one dares to challenge them and tell them otherwise. Again anyone can travel the world and see that America is not the only free country. So why don't more people reveal the truth on YouTube? Why am I the only one? If I talk about it on YouTube I only get 2000 views at most. But if Tucker Carlson says anything he will get millions of views. Same with Joe Rogan. How come no one dares to tell them that other countries have more freedom and aren't as controlled or paranoid as the US?

3. If you think about it there's no good reason to live in the US. Things are super expensive and outrageous and off the scales now. And the US is one of the most UNFREE countries in the world, compared to other countries, which truthers refuse to say. So why would anyone want to live there, including my son? It doesn't make any sense if you think about it. There's no logic to wanting to live in the US if you think about it. So what are people smoking when they prefer to live in the US? I don't get their logic.

This file gives you an idea, how to measure 'freedom' - I do not want to say that this listing is correct, or that I agree with it.

However it gives a good overview over most countries worldwide.

---------------------

USA was never on the top of this list, but it is also far away from the bottom of it.
It is not the paradise, but many other countries are worse and not so many are doing better than USA.

My personal view is that USA is difficult to measure, as it is somehow a mess, with different federal states following different laws.
One state might fit your own requirements better and the other one might be worse for you living there.

Politically and legally seen, USA is considered by many to be nothing but a chaos, medical care is highly overpriced, USA has truly a social problem,
there are clearly some race-related issues, a huge prison population, homeless...etc.

Why are you still living in USA, despite you say it is so bad there? You had many opportinities in the past to move out to another country - but obviously it is not really so bad there in general in the States, I agree social life is really not the best in USA - but this alone does not justify to leave USA for always.

In the US, you need money and in the US, Winston is kept by his parents, he has somewhere to live and has an allowance thus he is quite comfortable there. I would personally prefer Taiwan but as Winston and quite a lot of the Americans have said on here before, if they could have got the girl (s) of their dreams at 18, they would have never have left, Winston has said that, Ghost said that and I think Matt Hanson did as well @jamesbond is still there despite whinging about it ad nauseum - he has absolutely no intentions of leaving America.

I think Americans tend to like living America and in a lot of ways, Winston is quite comfortable there - I wanted to leave the UK since I could remember - I hated the weather, the miserable people - I feel comfortable in many other countries. The UK would never be a place where I would go back voluntary to make a go of it. When I am away I don't miss it whereas many Brits think it is the best place in the world and wouldn't leave it for anywhere else.

USA has very high wages for highly skilled workers and excellent opportunity to get rich from your own business. Only Dubai is comparable. Just look at engineer or finance industry after tax salaries in USA versus Canada, Europe, Japan, South Korea, etc. For average USA workers with moderate income, USA is a great place to accumulate savings but too expensive for retirement, so better to retire someplace cheaper. Money can buy freedom, so in that sense USA is bastion of freedom for both high skilled and average workers..

USA has excellent nature, though that depends on what you are looking for. I am outdoors hiking or bicycle touring 150+ days and camp 100+ nights each year, and I have very specific desires. For my purposes, Europe forested mountains are best for hiking and USA desert (where I am now) best for bicycle touring. For hikers who want alpine mountains, USA might feel freer than Europe, because USA Sierra Nevada is enormous and mostly empty and has mild weather and long hiking season compared to European Alps or Pyrenees or high Carpathians.

Much easier in Eastern Europe to find quality girls in their 20's and 30's who are open to relationships with men in their 60's (in exchange for money, of course). So Eastern Europe is freer in that respect.

USA is veey free if you want to own guns, especially handguns and double especially if you want to carry a concealed handgun everywhere you go. Legal consequences to the shooter for using that concealed handgun to kill/injure someone are typically disastrous, so something of a useless freedom, IMO.

America is the best on paper.

The US was originally founded as something like several independent countries that had supreme domain in domestic areas and outsourced foreign policy to the federal government. Of course, that changed with several things, one of the first was the civil war.

Even to this day, the US is comparatively freer if you want to say certain things without being formally persecuted by the government. The UK and Europe in general have laws about hate speech that are sometimes pretty strict and there are severe legal repercussions. That said, cancel culture still exists in America. Geographically, this is still a very great country to be. Also, guns and religious freedom. Ditto to the above about business and wealth potential.

It's a bastion of freedom compared to Iran, Iraq, N. Korea, Russia and Saudi Arabia.
