One British man struck gold on a popular gameshow, then dumped his fiance - giving her just Â£60 of his Â£1 million fortune for a cab fare home.

Nathan Hageman, 31, became the first person to hit the millionaire mark on UK gameshow Red or Black, the Daily Mail reports.

Hageman waited just a few weeks after making his pile before giving fiance Jane Makepeace the boot from his penthouse.

"I thought the money would make Nathan a better person because he wouldn't have to struggle to get by, but it has just made him worse than ever," she said.

Makepeace accused Hageman, who had previously spent two-and-a-half years in jail, of assaulting her throughout their relationship but stuck with him.
