'I have had short-term flings with some of these woman but never entered into any long term relationship, probably because after a couple of days going through the small talk and finding out a bit more about each other I have nothing really in common with any of these women at all.

Even though I speak Thai very well I still find them very boring.

There is a lot of truth in it, it is imposible to have deep inteligent convo with them, how do farangs date these poor Isaan women is beyond me when all they are interested is shopping and eating.
I couldnt picture a guy like Steve Hoca with any of these women, and even Winston being Asian is still not compatible with those kind of girls, plus throw into proportion that they are poor and cant afford burger I have to ask how the fck westen guys have relationships with these women?

The thousands, if not millions, of other threads on this forum explain why.

My Mexican gf and I loved talking about intellectual topics, even though she's from a poor rural village. Some other girls in her village won't, and she is actually one of the more sophisticated ones.

I take interest in many topics and can relate to or have knowledge on most subjects.

There are claims that this turns off many Western women, since this makes you a "nerd" or a "geek."

So hence their being stuck with the Isaan women.

The opposite seems to be the true in China and Taiwan. The upper/middle class women are seen with non-Asian foreigners way more than the lower class women are. Living in diverse cities with open ideas will cause them to have less of that traditional ethnocentric thinking.

It's a different situation in Thailand. The Chinese and other East or Southeast Asians tend to date the upper and middle class Thai women a lot more. (Ex-member?) Repatriate is an example. Thai tend to stick to their own kind if they've got the choice to do so. The old white farang's then get the "leftover" bar girls from poor backgrounds.

The emotional development of women never exceeds that of an 18 yr old their entire lives. As a result, they only care about whats happening today. I don't have much in common with my Filipina wife either but we started a business together and that's the main project that we focus on together. That said, my Filipina is more talkative than most of the women in her country which helps. When I want an intellectually stimulating conversation I just talk to myself.

Before I start calling these Aussie/NZ Anglo Saxons complete losers, I just have to rant a bit.

1) The majority of these guys would have trouble dating in any other country where the women aren't borderline desperate as it seems many village women are in SEA.

This gives the below average (as many of these men clearly are) a chance at happy, loving relationship with a decently attractive woman.

Then they f**k it up by stay out all night with their fellow Anglo expats. I've seen this story play itself out in text on various other web sites.

2) The reward for this of course is low information women. Women with only basic educations and limited knowledge of the world outside of their village, usually just the major cities they have been too and any experiences with foreigners.

Sounds pretty piss poor to me, no wonder I am not interested. Even a village girl in rural Ukraine is likely more interesting to talk too, once she learns English or you learn Ukrainian or Russian.

These guys are hooking up with part-timers (IE not fully hardcore hookers), its a pattern I've seen over and over and over again. The more average looking men get looked over by Western women, they more will believe this is there only option for happiness. They also buy into the more subservient culture thats featured throughout SEA, especially with poor/village girls, but thats basically true with any rural demographic really...
