Assuming that she was genuinely in a relationship or marriage, then yes she has the excuse. However, how many American or Western women do you know? Every time I go out into public, then I am invisible to them. What the hell is flirting, anyways? If one happens to glance at me, then she gives me this look like I just killed her dog or something. Nevermind the fact that I don't know her nor does she know me. I am still guilty because I am a man by association. Women in these cultures are taught by feminism to hate men. When I was in Japan, I never received this treatment from the local people, especially the women. They were super polite, but I didn't want to end up like one of those drunk fools that made an ass of himself when he was off base, so I left them all alone.

In Australia women will say "shall we split the bill" which is really just a test to see if you'll say "nah it's fine - ill get it". If you fail her test and agree to splitting the bill, then chances are she won't go on a second date with you.
+1

Australian, British, American, makes no difference - their attitudes are all the same. We are living in a female entitlement culture and it will only get worse.

Reason why I went for greener pastures elsewhere and married a non anglo saxon in the first place.
All credit to you JP, how is it going out in Lithuania?

All is well here and much happier :)
