Your analogy is a foolish one. Mathematics is a generally object discipline, Dorner's social commentary is full of his opinions, most of which are illogical and full of delusions of grandeur.
Anyone able to recognize clinical pathology can recognize elements of Cluster B personality disorders, pathological justification (You all made me kill that innocent girl), and grandiosity in giving advice to celebrities during his 15 minutes of infamy. The rambling nature of his writing is indicative of either a period of bipolar elation, stimulant drug use, schizophrenia, or something else a mental health professional could better identify.
On many levels, he is mentally ill and will justify any of his acts by blaming someone else.
To you young bucks out here so angry that you would relate to the Chris Dorners of the world. Don't let your displeasure with American society cloud your judgement. Chris Dorner is no hero. Anyone with half a unit of sense can see that he has a personal agenda which he is trying to justify to gain sympathy and support.
Anyone else like abcdavid01 who supports this public menace, why don't you show yourselves so we know just what we are dealing with on this forum?
I was actually referring to you saying all of Yakuza's posts, which you previously agreed with, were retroactively invalidated just because Yakuza supports this guy.
As for Dorner, I don't think his note has delusions of grandeur or anything. Nor do I find it particularly rambling. He knew he was going to die, so he simply said all he had to before he died.
Yes, it is a personal vendetta. That does not a priori invalidate his case.
As for mental health, certainly mental health classifications are social constructs (homosexuality used to be classified as mental illness and imo still should be), but unlike Leftists I do not think something is invalid merely because it is a construct. Constructs are useful, but also open to criticism. They sit in a nebulous space between objective and non-objective.
As a reactionary I actually take a rather unorthodox view of things. I could be called a fascist, but only because I think freedom can only occur in stability. Otherwise it is not freedom, but anarchy. Basically I believe in patriarchy.
You'll note that I never specifically said I supported Dorner. I just said he's not crazy. Even if someone makes a rational assessment, it can still be a wrong assessment. Frankly I'd like to know all the facts first. There's bits of truth and moral justification on both sides. I'd like to see the whole picture.
It's a danger to society not to take people like Dorner seriously, if only to prevent similar killings from others. The unibomber had a point as well, even if he was wrong logically or morally.
Why do you feel so strongly Contrarian Expatriate? Is there some kind of personal experience at play? Not that it would invalidate your position, but I would like to know what angle you are coming from.
