My friend insists on bringing his wife to america

I have a friend who is vietnamese and lives in south carolina and he is about to marry this vietnamese fiancee of his in vietnam soon. He was set up with this girl by his aunt in vietnam by his parents asking her to help him. He is insisting on bringing her to america to live with him when I told him it is not a good idea. I told him that she will be americanized as soon as she gets here. He says the only way he can get her to marry him is if he promises to bring her here. I don't understand his way of thinking. He doesn't listen to me about anything from telling him to get a better job than mcdonalds to even something big like this about marriage. What is your take on this ?
