Rudder's Recommended Podcasts

Post by rudder »

I'm going to start sharing podcasts that I've listened to or am subscribed to. No particular order or particular topic. Probably lots of stuff people on here will be interested in. I will recommend specific episodes or entire podcasts. If you appreciate what I post let me know. If not, just remain silent or start another thread about how you don't like something I've posted.

Let me start off with this one. Some brainy science nerds talking about the most important topic of our day. You'll probably need to frequently use the 15 second rewind button a lot with this episode. Dark Horse Podcast interview with a genius:

If you don't have a lot of time to keep up with current events, I highly recommend the weekly show, False Flag Weekly News by Kevin Barrett. Kevin is very scholarly, but also shows his good sense of humor in this show. I generally find his analysis of current events to be on point. Not a podcast per se, but definitely worth checking out. Very underrated.

This one's been a staple in my library for the past couple year's. I regularly listen to the podcast version.

The Expat Files

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t ... d407532450

A perennial favorite. Very entertaining. This is a podcast in line with being Happier Abroad. If you live in or are interested in living in latin america, then it is definitely worth checking out. I love how it is not at all politically correct. The anecdotes presented always make me laugh, because they are pretty much spot on, and definitely reflect someone who has lots of experience living in latin american society.

Expat Sandwich

Apparently this isn't active anymore. But it had some interesting anecdotes from various expats from various locations. I liked this one from Ecuador, as it shows how going abroad isn't really the be all end all. I think what resonated most with me was that ostensibly the expat was like many on this forum who have a slight prepper mentality and feel that the big collapse is coming so they must get out of dodge ASAP come hell or high water.

Good thread, thanks @rudder, I don't personally have much time for listening to podcasts because I'm always reviewing audio files in the background of anything else I'm doing while glued to a computer screen (business stuff) but I think I remember you recommending Kevin Barrett and I'm very pleased to see after Kanye and Kyrie have been naming the jew, they're having Nation of Islam Research Group members on as well:

https://www.unz.com/audio/kbarrett_bro- ... ish-power/
Author and journalist Bro. Demetric Muhammad of the Nation of Islam Research Group discusses the new Final Call article “Kanye West Meets Jewish Power.” It begins: “Black entertainer Ye (formerly Kanye West) has now joined the elite ranks of some of our most powerful and prestigious Black freedom fighters, such as Martin Luther King, Marcus Mosiah Garvey, Malcolm X, Bishop Desmond Tutu, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, and even our late great freedom fighter Nelson Mandela. For they–like Kanye–were all labeled ‘anti-Semites’ by the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith.”
If you're serious about "taking the red pill," read thoroughly researched work by an unbiased "American intellectual soldier of our age" to learn what controlled media doesn't want you to see 8) : https://www.unz.com/page/american-pravda-series/

A Neighbor's Choice is a very refreshing take on the news.
This discussion of falling birth rates made me think of happier abroad.

Peak Prosperity

I'm not a member, so I didn't listen to part 2 of this, but I've got a bit to say about part one. I like Chris Martenson's worldview for the most part, and trust his judgement on many issues. He's a very intelligent guy, no doubt about it. I really didn't start listening to any of his podcasts until 2020, so I'm not sure if he's just one of those types that perennially forecasts doom and gloom, and then when something bad actually pans out he gives himself a pat on the back and says, "see I was right." That said, he made a pretty good call about the covid pandemic. When it was still circulating in China and the media fervor hadn't struck the western world yet, he was telling people to get ready and stock up. Then as we all know there were toilet paper shortages, canned food shortages, etc. As I said, I don't know his track record, so I can't comment on whether or not this was just a broken clock moment for him.

When I first started listening to him, I didn't like that he wasn't critical at all of the virus, but in hindsight that makes me appreciate his views more, because I don't see him as just another groupthinker (yes there is a huge amount of group think in the alternative media too) that parrots the same conspiracy narratives or whatever. Eventually, he came around slowly but surely to realize what a whole scamdemic the situation was and I was relieved to hear his logical analysis of the injections and the rollout of the injections. On one hand he appreciated the seriousness of covid 19, and on the other hand he was very critical of all aspects of the response to the disease. At the time the alternative media was going on and on about "there is no virus," "the virus is just the flu" etc. etc. Glad to see he didn't jump on that band wagon.

Anyway, back to the podcast at hand. He talks about peak oil, which he seems to imply is an immediate problem of great magnitude. Problem is, I first heard about this back in about the year 2004, when the liberal town I lived in at the time had a screening of some new documentary about the topic. Also, I think many in the audience had first been fear-mongered to about the same topic in the late 70s. Martenson, just like those in the documentary, certainly painted a bleak imminent outlook, but failed to give any sort of timeline. OK, so we're f***ed. I get it. Does that mean next month we won't be able to get food to the shelves anymore? Next year? April 14th, 2031? C'mon at least crawl out a little bit on a limb so we can have the opportunity to cut it off and watch you fall for once! Should I quit my job now or next year in order to head to the hills and try to grow my own food full time?

This is the beef I have with anyone that I have ever come across that forecasts a total breakdown of society. I have been hearing this sort of doom and gloom since the late 00s when I started paying attention to conspiracies and the alternative media. I think it started with Alex Jones. Honestly, other than maybe dying of some sort of blood clot recently, I think my life would have actually ended up better and more prosperous if I just had my head stuck in the sand this whole time.

I do tend to agree with what he was saying about fusion energy in the podcast. I've been listening to a few podcasts lately that tout that "breakthrough" energy source. But he's right. The devil really is in the details when you learn that some of the top people in that field are talking about achieving a "working prototype" sometime in the 2030s. So, I guess Martenson predicts that things will go haywire sometime before then.

Here's a good counterweight to the last one I posted. I think many people on this forum, including myself should pay real special attention to the part about the missed opportunity costs of "waiting for the shoe to drop."

What do you all think about Unz's controversial theory amongst members of the alternative media that covid is responsible for more carnage than the vaccines? here he talks about that: https://kevinbarrett.heresycentral.is/2 ... -unz-asks/

Unz has either been completely disingenuous about covid from the start, or he's an absolute idiot. He periodically launches threads to bait the "crackpot anti-vaxers" because people get so pissed at him that the threads always get over a thousand comments, and he lives to get eyeballs. For a year or so I was one of the posters who called him out regularly for fallacious, bad-faith argumentation, but for over a year now have refused to read anything he writes on the subject. He has done some good work in the past, usually on mid-20th century history subjects, but I have him categorized as a liar now and am less inclined to read anything by him. And of course, there's always the speculation around that he's a keeper of lists for the Tribe.

It's ridiculous, proving that Unz is a bad guy, just like anyone who didn't call out the hoax in early 2020.

This one is not really my wheelhouse, but I enjoy the insights. Very intriguing topics about human psychology and nicely produced:
