America's double whammy of "winner's complex" and the "cult of positive thinking" are doing us no favors in getting through this depression. If people can't be realistic about what's going on with our economy, and are always intimidated (like everyone does to me) about "thinking positive" and "not being negative" (negative being conflated with realistic), we are in for a long, long hellish road ahead.
