Zboy, thanks for letting us know about this great new book. An epilogue about making serious efforts to get out of the system would be great though. :)

The chapter "The College Strike" takes a brave new stance on how many American colleges aren't male-friendly anymore. We're seeing an alarming number of young male American college students complaining about datelessness now (including on this forum), even though the traditional cliche wisdom is that college is supposed to be a dating paradise for all young men.

Who would have imagined several decades ago that these days, many 20-year-old handsome young guys in college would be no better off than 50-year-old virgins?

- The nice guys are afraid to date and approach women with all the "date rape" paranoia going on.
- All the ambitious, snobby women who outnumber men on campuses can be quite intimidating.
- Women are apparently too busy studying or stuck on their smartphones to set aside time and commitment for serious dating.
- And of course, college is full of cliques.

From page 65 of the book:
Young men are not going to whine about their predicament. ... It would not be an organized strike - it would just happen. It is happening.
And it is happening to me.

They're not whining because they have no outlet, except for a few online spaces such as HA. For me, I didn't, and couldn't, whine at first. I just did it by getting out of the US. The enormous day-and-night differences between UC/CSU undergrad girls and Mexican village girls struck me so hard when I took my first solo trips abroad; I saw that it wasn't just me. It was the American bubble.

And HA is not an organized strike, but rather some freethinkers and misfits sharing their thoughts and experiences. I'm sure there are so many others out there who would be ecstatic to know about us! :P
