I'm done with shopping!!!

Don't know about you guys, but it's official, I'm DONE with shopping for clothes like young males do these days. Story short, I'm a MAN, and I like to do MANLY things, and in my quest to cultivate my masculinity, I no longer feel that shopping at the mall, or department stores like women do is manly to me. It's a bunch of overpriced crap anyway (field tested!), and looking at stores such as Barney's, I can't believe that a person would pay $1500.00+ for ONE pair of denim jeans that makes you look like a weak idiot.

You see, over the last 40 years, clothing manufacturers have marketed to men because 40+ years ago men were very simple and pretty much wore the same clothes/styles everyday, so they saw an open market that was highly profitable to exploit. It's like how the cigarette companies started marking to women to get them to start smoking, because before that, only men smoked.

Anyway, in terms of men and clothes today, all this marketing of men's fashion has turned young men into a bunch of hipster weakling pricks who spend more time getting ready in the bathroom then girls. Additionally, males today look like girls because their clothes are too colorful and tight. Guys even blog about fashion and shoes for god sake! To me, this is homosexual behavior even if they don't even realize it, and I have heard and overheard numerous women over the years say that a man who takes more time getting ready then a woman is a turn off!

I'm telling you guys, women don't give two s$$$ about your clothes so as long as your clothes are clean, pressed, you smell good, and it's the right look for you. Hell, there are women who go crazy over dirty rugged look, such as biker guys.

Anyhow, for me, I'm a blue collar guy through and through, so I came to the conclusion that I'm only going to wear Ben Davis Clothing for the rest of my life because it's manly, it's rugged, it's durable, and it's money well spent! Carhartt is a second choice, but everything I need I can find with Ben Davis. Ben Davis has been around since the 1930's and was made for the working men of that time during the depression, but by the 1990's, Ben Davis clothing gathered a following with various Southern Californian subcultures. Obviously having 2-3 suits on hand and a few pair of dress shoes is a must for a more formal setting such a funeral.

Anyway, I feel so relived that I don't have to keep up with the trends or figure out how I'm going to afford a new wardrobe. I think back to the past of how men like my late grandpa had a closest full of the same clothes and only a few pair of shoes, and that was it. SIMPLE. Mind you, my grandpa was no bum. He owned his own home, his own new car, and he could get laid whenever he wanted as he had the $$$$$ and a long term girlfriend for many years.

I haven't kept up on what is trendy since I left Las Vegas. There, it definitely DID matter what brands/style you wore and how it looked on you. However, outside of industry, it doesn't matter. I live in a small town now and can wear anything I feel like wearing. I won't be given any looks because it's as good as what everyone else around me is wearing. I will say that a woman who think it's extremely important that you wear only the brand/styles that are IN are not worth dating. They are easily brainwashed....let them go on their merry way.

I remember seeing a style in the large cities before I left. These styles were skater/skinny jeans styles. They were made for people without an ass or build of any kind. They'd fit a teenager who hadn't filled out yet. Even if one COULD fit into those clothes (I never could, even when I was extremely lean), they looked pathetic....plain and simple. I don't care if that was/is the style, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing shit like that.

I think shopping online is great. I buy most of my stuff online and so far like it. I think Macy's is decent when they have sales, but also Marshall's - TJ Max and such. I don't care about super trendy stuff any more. Just something new that fits and looks good. Clothes is good to change just because it brings something new in your life. That means buying a few t-shirts/shirts and 1-2 pair of jeans per year. You don't need more, I agree with that. Overconsumption with clothing is terrible in the U.S. and Western World.
