Disneyworld vs the Philippines

Post by noog »

A few days into my trip in the Philippines, I posted some vacation pictures on Facebook and got my first snipe. It was from a non-immediate member of my step-family.

On one of my vacation pictures, this person posted a reply that said "You could have taken your kids to DisneyWorld". Shocked by the comment, I deleted the comment from Facebook and I un-friended her. She is basically on my shit list now - it's a good thing I don't get along that well with her anyway.

I was really upset about her passive-aggressive comment. First off, where does she get off telling me how to spend my hard-earned money?! And hmmmm what do you think matters more, my lifelong personal happiness (I'm engaged now :) ) or spoiling my kids at an overbloated overpriced tourist trap propogated by corportate America to rob the masses? Christ I would much rather give my vacation dollars to 99% masses in the Philipines than the 10% elite in America. Disneyworld is not my cup of tea and after flying 8000+ miles believe me it's not a "small world after all". Goddamn it, 100 times over I would rather take the kids mini-golfing or play kickball or bean bags with them instead of DisneyWorld. You know - real quality parenting time, not spoiling. Maybe next year I can take the kids to Worlds of Fun or Six Flags or something and spend one-tenth of the money I'd pay at DisneyWorld too. Get a grip!

Part of the problem is that the woman who posted the comment is a lonely washed up single closet-lesbian feminist hag of a woman who acts nice just to put on a show for the family but most of the time she is just a judgemental and cynical piece of shit.

Haters gonna hate but I still had to rant.

You mean you took your kids to the Philippines? Why? There's nothing in it for them there.

You should post my reasons and comparisons page on your wall to justify your Philippines trip, or send it to that family member directly. lol

Americans are ignorant and racist of the world outside of their country, so I'm not surprised at all by her comments.

+1 you are right most americans are so ignorant to the point they don't think there's a world outside the US. They all think the rest of the world is poor and that the US is the only rich country.

The people in my avatar are my lovely fiancee from Mindoro and I. The picture was taken at Picnic Grove at Tagaytay. We got engaged in Tagaytay 2 1/2 weeks ago ... I'm going to post a success story on this soon.

Also I didn't take my kids to the Philippines, because they are in school in the US now and since I share custody with their mom it would take an act of Congress (among other things) to take them out of the country for a visit! But they were excited to hear about my trip and I brought back souvenirs and pesos for them to show to their friends and classmates.

I did some light research on the severe lack of traveling that Americans do and I can confidently state that the old hag was probably jealous that you're able to travel abroad and she isn't able to for whatever reason.

The old hag then went in to try and make you feel guilty to somehow try and disrupt your peace of mind during vacation.

I also agree with you on the overpriced DisneyWorld crap... It's a ripoff....

I travel often to Asia and receive the same sort of comments from a variety of people.
Now you are engaged you will hear all kinds of racist taunts about you and your girl...mostly from white women.
Its going to be a tough road...good luck to.you...stay strong.

I would certainly say that the Philippines has more rides for adult men :)

if i could share a little advise ive learned women tend to get bitter with age as their value goes down. the opposite is generally true for men who often find greater happiness as they age. that being said unless the old women is an Aunt, a mother or a grandmother I tend to not even talk to them. even when i used to work in an office i went out of my way to never talk to the older and by older i mean 35 plus females as they usually have negative energy and are often cunty. the funny thing is if you were a female and had went to say jamacia a place known for older women finding young male company this old relative would have been contragulating you on being an empowered female.

Offending others is one of the few things western women really excel at. You can always count on them saying the wrong thing at the wrong time or giving their retarded opinion on something they know nothing about. I've seen a few western women in the Philippines and I've noticed their usually walking around by themselves which is no surprise. Not having to endure the sight or sound of western women is like a vacation in itself. Its normal for women to have a reserved personality something you notice with Filipinas immediately since there the most normal women you'll ever meet.

I agree. Generally speaking, AW tend to hang on to their negative baggage while men forget theirs. It's a main reason that happiness with a Am. woman my age never worked.
