Fukushima: The Monster Under Our Bed

Post by Taco »

The biggest nuclear disaster in world history is still spewing out tons of radiation not that anyone really cares.

I fail to understand why noone in any media anywhere has been able to quantify the radioactivity of Fukushima in familiar units -- roentgens or RAD (roentgens absorbed) -- rather than "becquerels" or "sieverts". Noone knows what the latter are -- as far as I am concerned they are mythical.

What would be meaningful would be "if you live in Alaska you will absorb 1 rad per year"

Or "there is .00001 roentgens in 1 liter of milk from grass-fed cows in California."

Hearing how many sieverts or millisieverts are emitted in the smoldering ruins of the Fukushima reactor has no relevance to anyone.

Consider that this may be exactly their objective.

I live in the Washington D.C. area. I have always wondered what the government types are doing to protect themselves and family from Fukushima's radiation. They are breathing the same air that I am breathing. I have read many accounts that say that we are slowly being baked in radiation.

The US has been radiated for almost a year now. The question we should be asking is not where to hide, but what to do if you're baked in radiation. Looking around the internet should tell you some solutions, such as kelp.

Japanese experts say that Fukushima is currently releasing up to 93 billion becquerels of radioactive cesium into the ocean each day. A historic number of sea lions is washing up in Southern California — Has reached ‘epidemic proportions’.

Note to self, stop eating sea food.
