The Guardian huh? They usually are able to express quite well why just as Thatcher feared, Britain is in terminal decline.ryanx wrote:The bitch is dead! I just feel sorry for the mass murderers and evil dictators who have to share hell with her - well I suppose they deserve it.
Or as the Guardian newspaper puts it: " Her legacy is public division, private selfishness and a cult of greed that together shackle the human spirit."
They are as such, the curators of a former great country.
I suppose you had to live in Britain during her reign of cruelty, selfishness and greed, as I did, to realize the utter devastation she inflicted on the very fabric of the society and to understand the visceral loathing for everything she stood for.OutWest wrote:The Guardian huh? I quite enjoyed my glass of wine last night when I heard about her physical demise. Some people are dancing in the street in UK.
Here is a libertarian perspective on Thatcher. Of course as a dumb broad she didn't really know what she was doing and was just following the orders of the PTB, but her legacy is pure evil.

Most influential PM of the U.K. since Churchill; she was right in getting Great Britain out of the Euro currency union and crushing the communist trade unions. On the other hand, she did keep intact (and supported) the NHS (National Health Service) system and believed in global warming, so I don't get the weird obsession American conservatives have for her? And I do believe, like Reagan, Thatcher was slightly overrated when looking through my libertarian perspective. But they are surely better than a liberal dolts like Obama or Gordan Brown any day of the week. One thing we can all agree on, she did inspire a lot of great music during her time:

I could be wrong, but didn't she rebuff the bilderbergs?

She was a relatively libertarian figure who was right for her time period. She helped support Reagan against the Soviet Union so we ultimately prevailed.
She was hand-picked and groomed to be the Tory leader back in the 70's, but she grew to be a bit of a bully with her male underlings. See the movie The Iron Lady to get a fuller picture of Thatcher.
No one is perfect but I give her a general thumbs up.

Thatcher's death has caused Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead to go to number 1 in the UK charts.

Thatcher is a lady with the balls of a man. She may not be the perfect leader but she did have the iron heart needed to do some actions that most men during her time would have balked under. Her leadership has pros and cons (as all leaders have) but overall she gets a positive rating from me. Now, if we will talk about Palin... Lol.
I'm not sure what there is to approve of. Thatcher was the figurehead of a regime that de-industrialized Britain, blamed the victims for their own marginalization and removed regulations from the financial sector that had been preventing them from stealing everything. Meanwhile, small businesses were regulated to death.Transferring wealth from ordinary people who were actually producing useful stuff to parasitical banksters doesn't seem so great. Also feminism, political correctness, the mass immigration of genetic trash and other disasters were really cranked up during the 80s.Contrarian Expatriate wrote:She was a relatively libertarian figure who was right for her time period. You understand that she was an actress performing in a manner her handlers had coached her to, right?jboy wrote:Thatcher is a lady with the balls of a man.
