I can completely identify with this comic strip since I either currently or have in the past had to deal with these very same issues!

I was happily surprised that your comic was actually funny, I'm very critical of what is so called 'humor' nowadays and I have to say this is good stuff, even if you are an extrovert and don't get it.

I actually feel for Sam, I had to 'fix' some of these very same issues in myself to be able to have some semblance of normalcy in my life, usually forcing myself to participate in "trial by fires" type lifestyle and social situations to just do them and get them over with so I know how to conduct myself. I actually went into the Navy to force myself to get over many of the issues Sam deals with. Not saying they are all bad, or dysfunctional, it's just we introverts have to learn how to behave in an extrovert world and if we don't we suffer immensely. Extroverts will never truly understand this unless they somehow have to live or be around someone that is an introvert on a regular basis.

I'm still a misfit, but at least I'm a functional one I guess.

BTW, you may want to see if you can get your strip in some of the indie free City newspapers in the states cause they tend to dig these type of strips.

I used to live in these cities and these are the happening artsy type indie mags that are considered cool:
I'm sure other cities have their own but I don't know their names.
Initial exposure is everything. Most comic strips suck IMO, but I sense yours actually can go somewhere if you want to take it further.

Sam is pretty much me. It's based on my own life with a bit of exaggerration. For example for trying to talk to a girl in a club, I got labelled a 'perv'. Ironic, seeing as my sex drive is non existent. That's what this one is about :

Good to know there's other introverts and misfits who can relate. I've always felt different from other people. The comic deals with the issues of anxiety, introversion, depression and generally being a misfit. I also make points about the hypocrisy and double standards in our society.

It's also about my stubborness of not wanting to change myself to fit in with society.

I'm going to continue making them, it's my mission

By far the most personal kind of work I have done. I started putting the comics up on tumblr. There are a lot of young deluded feminists on there, but also it's good to see there are a lot of anti feminists, and anti 'social justice warriors', which is good to see.

Try submitting your comic to indie City newspapers or mags like the ones I mentioned above. I added them on after you replied. I think they could catch on in different parts of the English speaking Western world.

Ah ok, thanks for the links. I could look for an email on there and send a few. The language and subjects of my strips can be a bit 'edgy' sometimes. Not sure if that would be a problem for them. I'm planning to do a longer SAM comic, like a graphic novel, which I am thinking of sending to comic publishers like Fantagraphics. Hard to get published by them as they are overloaded with submissions, but worth a go.

I agree that the comics are of professional quality. The OP should be able to monetize them in some way.

Thanks, I've had a few things published. I used to do a regular kid's comic strip for my local paper, but that finished. Would be ideal if I could earn enough from my art to enable me to live abroad in the future.
