Young Filipinas: Worst At Customer Service

Post by Taco »

Young Filipinas might be good lovers but they are the absolute worst when it comes to customer service. If you work slow, and screw something up repeatedly in Philippines they make you manager. That said, young Filipinas are the most retarded people on this planet when it comes to customer service they do not give a rats ass what happens. They'll leave you standing there all day while they carry on a conversation and they don't know anything about their job and they never get fired. Even mother Teresa would feel like beating them. Like everything in the Philippines, there's no quality control on customer service so complaining won't get you any where.

I have to call you "Court" Jester here, Jester. That was some coonery s.hit right there....LOL @ what you said. Wow. lol
Facetious arent' we??? lol

@Puttin_On_The_Ritz,

Taco. Dude. This is a taboo topic even here on H.A.. The Filipinaphiles here don't even want to touch it LOL
When I used to reside in the Putaphines, I had to deal with the same malarkey: abhorrent, sub-part customer service.
It's just not the Filipinas whom do that; the men there do that s.hit too. I remember when I went to BDO, and to
get a banking transaction done was horrible (and they would laugh at you in tagalog talking s.hit), but the moment you call
them a puta....hell breaks lose...even a Filipina could go postal at that moment! They loathe being called that! LOL

It's like: damn.. They took a simple transaction and made a elongated Tony Rich project out of it, but nobody knows it but me right???
I feel Skateboard S on that one....Brasil is not the only country that does that dumb s.hit.

Its stressful, but not as bad as living in China. Its hot as hell, few jobs, everyone lies to you, and everyone is very complacent.

I am starting to think that I could put up with anything, except lies.

The main religion of Asian culture is Confucianism which basically says corruption and lying are ok as long as it helps your friends and family. Its hard to find anyone you can trust, even family members rip each other off without thinking twice about it.

You beat me to it. In the US we lie as a matter of course, not just for the benefit of our family.

Nonetheless I agree lying is a pain, but by a certain age you ought to be used to it.

OTOH, House says "Everyone lies," and those are words to live by.

As a man from the land of the Borgias and Machiavelli, let me tell you, lying is as inherent in human nature as it is free will.

Sometimes we are prepared to accept a lie better when it's coated in flattery, adulation, or even just a smile. In short, when it comes with what looks like a moment of credible, genuine human interaction.

One can only find a level of customer service deemed professional in those establishments that cater for the upper echelons of society, and where it makes sense to have staff who have actual knowledge of what they're making/serving/supporting. I think this applies all over the world.

I suspect people like Taco might have been sticking to fast food chain level of customer service during their trips in the Philippines. If they had attended high class hotels in Manila, or talked to one of those technical support specialists who answer the phone when somebody wants a clue on a Netgear router or a Virgin Media connection, they would realise Filipinas and Filipinos aren't better or worse than anyone else educated to the same level and paid the same price.

For what I know about Filipino culture, at the same level of quality (or mediocrity) of customer service, give me a cute petite Pinay who giggles her way through the transaction and asks you where you are from and what you are doing, any time.

What you say makes sense, but would apply more to countries like Thailand than the Philippines, which is a Catholic country.

Who cares as long as they can love you better than American women, The phillipines is not a country meant for business, if you want good customer service and overweight trashy women, then come back to the States, no place is perfect

Hi Taco,

So are you becoming jaded living there now? I'm finally able to leave the USA after many years of waiting, I'm in the process now of selling everything and am ready to leave the USA to see what I'm able to find. I have business in the Philippines and I employee people there, that's one reason I'm going. But I'm wondering how you like it now that you've been for awhile? Be honest. Would you recommend somebody to live there? Does the good outweigh the bad? Outwest likes it there and chooses to live there, would you recommend the same?

Thanks in advance.....

It took me about 8 months to start getting used to the culture and climate. You really need to find someone you can trust to help you out when you first get here. You can live on $500 a month here if your careful with your money. All the wireless internet connections are slow and you'll lose your signal. If a storm destroys your city you can easily pack up and move. You'll like living here as long as you can make money.

Philippine Pros

1. Not as many loud, arrogant assholes as the US
2. You can walk up to anyone and start talking to them
3. You can get a girlfriend in 2 seconds
4. You'll have lots of friends
5. No one will get mad at you
6. You can buy anything you want on the black market, ask taxi drivers for details

Philippine Cons

1. Slow Customer Service, worst salespeople you'll ever meet
2. People lying to you, constantly giving you wrong technical information and advice
3. Slow internet - you'll need a DSL connection of at least 5 Mbps ($50/month) to come close to your connection in the US
4. Climate is very hot it will bring you to your knees. You need air conditioning to sleep at night most of the time
5. If there's no price tags on a item get your Filipina girlfriend to buy it, they'll rip you off
6. Brownouts/Blackouts, you'll need to buy some candles and matches for sure
7. Typhoons and Earthquakes, I survived Yolanda over 7000 people died, we didn't have power for 3 weeks and crappy internet for months
8. Driving is crazy, use public transportation
9. Ants, cockroaches, dog crap, stray animals
10. neighbors rooster crowing at 2 am

That's a nice analysis, thanks Taco.

One of the biggest things for me is your number one pros, here in the USA I always get messed with by people all the time, and I'm so sick and tired of it. I've had to fight all my life and have gotten into so many fights it's not even funny. And I'm just sick and tired of that now. I'm really hoping the Philippines is going to be a place for me where people won't mess with me like that, if it will be I think I might just like it there.

Where in the USA are you from Taco? I'm from San Diego.....

Thanks for the reply :-)
