Getting away from the U.S./Anglo racial system
Getting away from the U.S./Anglo racial system
I think the more I stay in Asia, the more I realize how f**ked up the USA racial hierarchical system is.
I no longer have to deal with racial tension between the races, racial abuse or stereotypes associated with my ethnicity.
I don't have to hear about the racist police beating-up or killing Blacks, Neo-Nazis or intra-ethnic rivalries between different races and minority groups back in the States.
I don't have to hear the Rush Limbaugh's, Ann Coulter's and other Neo-Con right-wingers, spew their hate on the radio.
It's nice not having to deal with the issue of race at all, except only in certain instances: for example, having to deal with job discrimination in the English teaching profession, or racism coming mostly from other Westerners (which is very prevalent, unfortunately).
So to summarize, I have peace-of-mind living in Asia...and it's a relief!

The US has the most lawyers per capita in the world. The more racial tension there is, the more law suits will result which is how they make money. The US media does everything it can to promote racial tension to keep these guys working. The last thing we want is unemployed lawyers roaming the streets.

I hear you zboy and agree 100%. All the asian americans I know abroad have offered up similar sentiments. Even some black guys i've met have said the same thing. Getting out of the U.S. racial matrix is an important thing for all minorities to experience. I think it's even important for white americans too. I feel the U.S. environment is so polluted with this stuff that it makes daily life an aggravation. Maybe that's why so many people are pissed off all the time. It's not just that the women are shit but the races are also set against one another. So there's no refuge in America really..no matter where you go you will run up against tribal type behavior and aggression or exclusion based on an identity you were born with.
I've gone one step farther though and i've started to reduce the number of american and english speaking people I know and meet abroad as well. Too many of them import their own prejudices and are not good people to have around especially if you are trying to get away from toxic American culture. So these days when I meet an American he better have some very good references.

It's also because of TRUE LOVE...The system has made sure that Two Like Minded People Would Never Meet In America and Stay Together. They bring in racial divide etc to keep people away from each other.
I'm not sure if we have any American Member here...Who has ever found his True Love....The One....They Believe its just a fairy tale, It does not exists, What is the proof...The darkness has taken over the minds of people so much that...They do not believe in one thing that could bring them the most happiness....Being with someone whom you could truly love and care.
Many Americans don't believe in Love but deals and equations and proofs..The trust is long gone....The vessel is empty...The Soul is dark..There are pockets of places on earth, that still hold the value of love.
I'm afraid for most Americans..Its no coming back from darkness...Americans have this huge suspicion of People who are trying to love them...They always think its for Green Card & Visa or Money....They simply can't believe a human being could love them.
I know I'm a third world guy and when dealing with Americans, I have felt it many times, they feel, we are there to take away everything they have because we are third world...They don't seek the time to know another human being...again, they judge based on Equations, Proofs and Numbers aka Money etc....They don't go or don't have the time or whatever to go deeper into a human being...built relationship etc...
Most of them are running on fuel aka money not soul. When the Fuel goes, they go along with it.
I agree with Zboy...Americans need to embrace other culture..OPEN UP MORE...Let other cultural vibe suck you in....Yes, there will be scams on the way but you only need one good soul to change you for ever...Its out there.
Its not that outside world is one stop solution for all our problems, but the more you experience other people, the more you learn.

Yeah China was like a sea of calm in a nasty storm. Glad you are happy in Asia.
Please remember: It is NOT race that defines the conflict (the elite spins this story in order to gain additional soldiers). The war is about beliefs, free marketers vs socialists vs cabalists.
Look at what a person does and how they live (not even what they say) to learn their beliefs and which side they are truly on.

Yes, I think the racial hierarchy in Korea is something like this:ladislav wrote:Other countries have their own hierarchies but you just need to pick those places where you're not on their sh-tlist.
1. Koreans
2. Overseas Koreans who have returned to Korea
3. White people from first world nations
4. Non-white people from first world nations
5. People from developing countries
At least the US has passed anti-discrimination laws. At least they've tried to create a society in which racial equality is a reality, and there are lots of people from minority groups in high positions. It doesn't always work out because a lot of people still tend to be racist at an individual level.
Zboy,
How long have you been in Asia? It's possible you are still in the "honeymoon phase" of your experience, and haven't seen or been exposed to the darker side of things yet. When you get challenged to fights on an almost nightly basis for being seen with one of "their" local women, you let me know.
China in particular is notorious for being anti-black in many areas. I even applied for a recruiting job for a Chinese language company in Shanghai, one of the more "progressive" cities, to recruit overseas English teachers for teaching posts throughout the country, and one of their requirements was "do not recruit black people. White people from the US, Canada, and the UK only." They wouldn't even let me recruit Australians or Irish people, because they thought their accents were "non-standard." Needless to say, I did not accept the job, and I reported their practices to several TESOL job boards.
Zboy, I am in agreement with you. It is a much better place than the US for meeting women, getting a job, etc. But, I think we need to be realistic, let's not try to make it out as being perfect.

Minorities are shit in the U.S.
Even asians the supposedly highest tier is just existing. Not prospering. Existing.
The U.S. is a good place to make money and maybe build a niche but it's no place to build generations. It's a dead end culture.
About Zboy1, I got about the same impression. He is Asian American, he noticed correctly that social life is broken in USA, but he exaggerates the advantages of living in Asia, especially China.Bane wrote:Zboy,

Many Asians are discriminating too against people, who do not belong to them, who are 'foreign immigrants', even if those immigrants are Asians too.
Indian people, not only in India, but in Malaysia (a country I know well and I speak the Malay language) are often acting very reclusive and do not wish any private contact with foreigners. Vietnamese people are not known to be so open-minded to foreigners as well.
Religion - Islam, Hindu - might also create problems for international friendship.
Asian governments are often very reluctant to welcome foreigners for longstay while visitors (=paying tourists) are welcome.
Working conditions in countries like China can be pretty bad, often even when legally in countries like Thailand for longstay - married or retired etc. - health insurance is not open to foreigners, while expecting foreigners to pay income tax etc.
It is often difficult to earn enough money, even if you like to stay in a certain Asian country and get legal permit to do so, as there is simply said, a very low living standard and no good jobs like in Bangladesh or Myanmar, unless you are able to invest a considerable high risk sum into an export-business. Philippines might be cheap and legally easy, but you have to deal with criminality and corruption all the time etc. etc.
It is not always greener on the other side of the fence. We have to see both sides - in Western countries the social life is broken, however to relocate as a young person before retirement to other countries is not always so easy.
I am an immigrant myself, from Europe and now living in Japan since more than 3 decades, so I know about what I am talking.
