Look, a good acid test of the matter is: what would have happened before our culture was destroyed? What would nineteenth century men have done (WWNCMHD)? In a nineteenth century Western city, would male scum be allowed to stand around on street corners propositioning passing females? Of course not, because they would have been beaten to a bloody pulp by all the men within earshot, after a pause of a few seconds when those men recovered from their shock and disbelief. It follows that, because our ancestors were great and we suck, we should be trying to revive those times. Of course the female should have been dressed more modestly, but that is another matter.

Let's face it: she was not walking in a typical American neighborhood. She was walking in a neighborhood where you would expect the males there to behave like that. If you've ever visited the Dominican Republic, you're going to see similar areas like that neighborhood, with the same type of loitering guys. A light-skinned tourist, even a guy, will likely get the same treatment like that chick did. I know, because I did. Not sexual propositioning but aggressive attempts at small talk, as it were. It's unpleasant but if you just calmly ignore it, chances are you'll be fine.

Interesting comment Cornfed. I agree with you but I doubt that women in the nineteenth century dressed anything like the women of today dress. As far as I know, people were very conservative back then. Females wore dresses all the way down near their ankles. Today, many women find no problem with wearing leggings or spandex in public.

Put the camera away and let her walk around Wall Street all day. She would probably have no problem talking to an investment banker who wears a thousand dollar suit and makes half a million a year.
