Why am I singled out in my work place, this Culture?
Re: Why am I singled out in my work place, this Culture?
So much of what Winston says is right it's amazing! I don't know how he formulated all of that into words.
Misery and happiness are only states of mind.

Truth. Speaking about politics is bad in the workplace. No wonder someone I knew used to work in Toronto and when he started talking about Asian masseuses and started to entertain the female co-workers, one "anonymous" complaint from a Canadian-born woman was like a pin to a balloon of water. He was slandered and the female co-workers started to avoid him, and the manginas started to monitor every word which came from his mouth.Ghost wrote:In America we have free speech...until we say things that someone else doesn't like. Times that 100 for the workplace. If you express opinions that a (female or mangina) coworker doesn't like, you're likely to be written up, harassed (behind closed doors of course), or fired. If you still need a job to stack some cash, just keep your head down and pretend you're a sheep. Don't let on to anything. Get what you need and get out.

What country did you move from to this workaholic country?Adama wrote:I think you'll be disappointed with people wherever you go.
Here's how to get along at work. Talk only about work things. Act like a nerd. Act like you'd rather be working than having sex with a beautiful 10. You have to present the image that you love work. Listen to what they talk about and those are safe topics. Enjoy work in America!

Don't forget to ALWAYS be in a hurry... even when you have plenty of time. Also remember to keep your schedule filled 24/7 (equivalent to your typical western chic)WorldTraveler wrote:What country did you move from to this workaholic country?Adama wrote:I think you'll be disappointed with people wherever you go.

Maybe you ought to tell whoever is getting on your case about what you're talking about that they're not in North Korea anymore.Eric wrote:..for being normal. For talking about normal things. I have other people telling me what to do - when they're not my boss....
someone will strike up a conversation about politics and then, I'll start contributing and then - suddenly "I'm crazy" because I was saying something about Trump.
Are you not allowed to talk about Illuminati to someone in public conversation? I mean obviously I wouldn't blurt it out, but it was a private conversation between us two. .... Is there some taboo against this? Someone please let me know. I think someone at work told someone else I was "crazy" because I mentioned Illuminati or something in a conversation. It hurt also. ...
My God.
Does anyone else get anxiety attacks, have lots of anxiety? I do... always I have. Especially since moving to this country.
What can you talk about - are there rules? It seems to me it keeps changing and different people have different ones. wth.
You can't talk about anything anymore.
Also I try to be nothing but nice to everyone at work, they don't budge a finger, yet I'm the one that's "always getting upset". It doesn't make any sense.
I hate this country. It sometimes feels, like everyone's attacking me.

So much of this shit is on point, it's funny. It's making me laugh. For the land of the free, people sure do take things here very SERIOUSLY -like most of its play 'acting' and there is a lot of hypocrisy. I'd rather just work hard, then work harder at presenting an image of me working "hard"...which is bullshit and what's expected of you here.
I also cant stand the "Well, you'll find that wherever you go." Somehow, I don't sense that it is the truth!
but whatever, Invalidation is common trade here, too. I've noticed Americans invalidate themselves, and use invalidation on others to try to psychologically pressure & guilt them into shutting up/ being a good machine.
It cant be like that everywhere.
You know...I used to live in Turkey, I know it wasn't like that there, people actually had, you know - a personality... would talk with you, get to know you on a personal level. It seems so many people are invested in staying as far as possible from you - here. All business. Yeah - I knew the American dream was bullshit even when I was young. My father pushed us real hard, worked his ass off his whole life...busted himself just for the American Dream - he was miserable the whole time, as well. As are most people, here. The thing is, he died young...and he didn't even get to enjoy it. He didn't enjoy life, but worked to provide for his family.
I can't stand the American nightmare.
Socialism is putting the kibosh on it ANYWAY, so if you are wise you would consider an unreality, the hopeless state of it.....shrinking wages, outsourced jobs/ miserable economy, taxes on business.....no borders left. What kind of dream do you think you'll be working for in the future? It's clear the government doesn't want us to have the dream anymore, so it's disappearing fast. People will hang on and cling.
I can see ahead and it looks gloomy. That's just how I feel though.
Hey if you can handle it, go for it - most people go gung "ho" with it though, and lose themselves, become slaves and workaholics, for this dream - yet lack the discipline to carry through with it. The establishment promotes it that way, too. They have no problem with it. They know lie 90% people will mess up and fail, become gov dependent and that's just where they want them.
They plan on throwing so much pressures on you from all sides, distractions, entertainment...etc, that they know you won't be able to handle it and go off the rails, "most people" will. That's the truth, yet people keep deceiving themselves with this hope of a dream.
And how can this be a free country, when there are SO MANY LAWS?! My God, there are rules and laws for everything here - yet we are free. Howcome.
It's a lot of hypocrisy.

Interesting and very true about the so called "American dream." In fact, take a look at this here. http://basspig.wordpress.com/2010/02/16 ... nlaw-fraudEric wrote:So much of this shit is on point, it's funny. It's making me laugh. liberals f@ck everything up. They'd screw up a glass of tap water. Put them in charge of a desert, within a month or two there'd be a shortage of sand.Eric wrote:So much of this shit is on point, it's funny. It's making me laugh. I agree very much so. Liberalism is why I hate the country, now.
Misery and happiness are only states of mind.

Don't hate the country; just hate liberalism/feminism. It exists in canada, UK, Australia, new zealand, south africa and scandanavia (france to an extent). I felt the same way you did. I was down on the country... until I found out who the real problem/enemy is.Eric wrote:I agree very much so. Liberalism is why I hate the country, now.

Yeah, but America was by design the ground "zero" for all the dystopian nightmare shunted on the world...
It was the plan to build a country, completely enslave it's peoples, create a completely dumbed-down slave-like population and corrupt them - and then trasmit this to the rest of the nations across the world.
Serious. I really find it hard to say, but I hate this country, and always have.
This place is awful. I don't understand others, like my Mom, who like and even love this country. I don't get it - at all.. . what must they be telling themselves?
Misery and happiness are only states of mind.
