If my upcoming year in China fails, I may give it a shot. Thing is, I'm not willing to even attempt the language or learn about the culture, and the EFL situation is dicey there at best. But I'll never say never.

Dicey EFL situation how. There isn't quite the volume of information on Nam as there is for China, Japan, Korea or teaching English in Thailand.

On the language thing, it shows respect to learn the language which can help but...
Either you are going to stay in which case, you really should learn the language
or
You are going back home in which case only those who know English or whatever your native language is very well are options in which case knowing her language is helpful to impress her but the only girls who qualify can already speak to you.

Dicey in its work visa system, for one. Pay sounds good enough, but it sounds like a nightmare in a lot of ways. Hardly ever find anyone who says it's a long term spot to teach. I'm not willing to try the language because I already dabble in Spanish, Chinese, and Tagalog. Those are the only ones I'm interested in for now. If I went there, it'd probably be to teach a few months, snag a wife, and get out.

A few months, maybe possible in a place like India and neighbours where arranged marriages are a thing, but I'd have serious doubts about any viet woman you can find to marry within a few months. Gold card issues for example. Also I am pretty sure Vietnam has some of that Chinese style, nice girlfriend turning into a materialistic nagging demon hag thing going on, it would take more than a few months to sus that out.

Speaking of which, I feel the same way regarding India, few months sure but that polluted unpleasant and very hot place... would rather just go in and get out. Same about China really except the temp varies, the cooler it gets the more polluted, for this northern lad it's damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Perhaps, in third world countries, the women would not piss me off - to the point where I'd actually want to talk to them and have anything to do with them. Infact, I'm sure that's the case!
I think I have so many bad experiences with women, throughout my whole life, in just seeing them - not directly even interacting with them... that I just completely avoid them! These have all been North American women, made me feel this way. I never have, nor would I ever feel this way around girls from other countries. They inspire the opposite feelings in me, of warmth, romance, connection and attraction; than do North American women, whom with everything is a competition; who are just cold, nasty, Ice queens - who try as hard as they can to be as cold & independent as possible (repelling you) - and then think this is sexy. And can't understand why you're not attracted back- chalk it up to your male chauvinism and walk away. These women are confused.

NEVER take advice from a woman, especially about dating. And NEVER reveal any sort of weakness in front of any woman. A good rule of thumb is - unless you're f***ing her, you have no need for her as a friend. THAT is how you avoid getting friendzoned.
