I thought living abroad would make me happy...
I thought living abroad would make me happy...
...and it did. I lived in Pattaya for a couple months, but then had to go back because of money. Getting regular sex even though it was all whores cured my depression. I just played video games all day, golfed, went swimming on the beach and then f***ed a different girl ever other night. Life was great. Now I had to return to a society that sees me as a loser and has treated me like dirt all my life. I´m also completely invisible to women again. I´m also severly depressed again. I wished I could live there forever. Just lol at seeing a therapist who tells me all my problems are in my head and can be cured by just talking when in reality this society is the entire cause of my depression.

According to American in Bangkok a single person needs around$2000 USD per month to live reasonably comfortabley in Thailand. I guess that wouldn't be enough to live large in a sea side resort but it would be enough to date and go to the movies and get ice creams from the 7/11.

I was also depressed when I had to come back from the Philippines. What sustains me is the hope of going back for good.

^^ Awesome post.
Anyway, it's sad that in America it's so hard for the average man to get laid. Even guys that are married and taking care of thier families aren't getting laid as much as you think, or not at all.
I have narrowed down that prohibiting people from having sex drives people into consumerism (i.e, food, clothes, cars) because they buy things to keep them occupied and to ward of depression. Also, it makes men more aggressive so they will be more likely to sign up to fight in a war which is great for the U.S. Government.

To be honest I don't think the United States is that bad.. I'm on the same plan, working to position myself 1-2 months overseas and work the rest of the year here in the United States. I would say 99% of Americans are unable to do such a thing and it's actually a privileged position to be able to do just that.Ghost wrote:That's the problem all too often: you find where you're happy and then can't stay long. I've been there before. It sucks the life out of you. If I knew I could, for example, spend 2 months of every year in Philippines or Thailand doing p4p and enjoying life I would think I could stand the rest of the year being in the U.S. But who knows for sure? Even with such a reward, the U.S. would still suck the life out of me.
In America your happiness really depends on what state you live in. Anyway, just be careful guys.. I think it was Rock or another long time poster that said you can't evaluate a whole country in 2-3 months. That short of a trip you're still in the honeymoon phase so everything seems so much better than what you're use to.

Once the Petro $ is gone America is gone economically speaking. People still seem to have no idea what is coming here........

Interesting post. Seems that what you are saying is living a life of wealth and permanent vacation made you happy. Is that life or is life is hard work? Doesn't having things requires years of sacrifice and effort.WuFan wrote:...and it did. I lived in Pattaya for a couple months, but then had to go back because of money. Different girl every night? Interesting, when I have access to escorts or whores, I keep going back to the same ones. I don't want a different girl every night. I want the ones I want.
Seeing a Therapist? I have a cousin who is a Psychiatrist. Long ago, before he changed, he told me, "Never get in the system."
I lived in Japan one year. Worked at one of those big chain English schools. Wasn't happy.
I lived in Korea for two years. Worked at a High School. Wasn't happy.
Traveled the world for the past two years. Not by my own choice. Wasn't happy. The Devil and it's parasites don't want the real children of the true God to be happy. They work everyday to ensure we are not happy. Why? They are miserable, rotten and hate the true God so they take it out on the true God's children.
Re: I thought living abroad would make me happy...
It depends where you are in Thailand, Northern Thailand is much cheaper than Bangkok/Pattaya - it also depends if you own your rooms, if you pay rent or if you merely stay in hotel rooms.Devon wrote:According to American in Bangkok a single person needs around$2000 USD per month to live reasonably comfortabley in Thailand. We have our own rooms in Pattaya/Jomtien for vacation and future retirement, and USD 2.000,- is more than enough for a very comfortable life. However we do not use a car, just motorcycle.
However you have to consider also your airfare if you stay only for a few weeks.

Ryan Boundless says he only spent $384 during his third month in Thailand.

So why can't you work in China for most of the year and then do two or three months in Thailand and Philippines for fun?Ghost wrote:That's the problem all too often: you find where you're happy and then can't stay long. Because wherever you go 'there you are'.
I have changed a lot since my move abroad, a lot of the change was very organic and wasn't of my own conscious doing, it was an evolution of adapting to my host society and it changed me, for the better, but it didn't happen in a few months, it happened over a course of a few years but I let it happen, if I had tried to dogmaticaly stick to keeping my culture, views and habits intact from flying out of my home country, I would have always have been unhappy. You have to allow change and having to adapt.
The one thing I would kindly suggest is to put down the f***ing video games console and TRY not to get into p-4-p as you are going down self-destructive avenues (with no.2) and if you go all the way to Thailand to sit in your room and play video games - even for an hour - you're just wasting time!

I had an experience living abroad without my family and the experience was pretty good for me.

I agree about p4p being lame but a man can't live without video games, whichever continent he's on! If I had to choose between spending the rest of my life never touching a girl again or never touching a video game again, I'd choose the former in a heartbeat. It's a habit that needs to be curbed tho, it's true.yick wrote: ↑November 18th, 2020, 5:53 pmThe one thing I would kindly suggest is to put down the f***ing video games console and TRY not to get into p-4-p as you are going down self-destructive avenues (with no.2) and if you go all the way to Thailand to sit in your room and play video games - even for an hour - you're just wasting time!
