You can find a lot of cheap deals on Tiger Airlines too, because they are a budget airline.

However, keep in mind that the cheapest flights are usually at the most inconvenient times, such as late night AM flights.

I have a question. How do popular US booking sites such as Travelocity, Orbitz and Expedia compare to those cheap fare finder sites you guys listed above? Do they have the same prices or more or less?

Also, why do people say that fares have gone up over the last few years? That sounds like complaining without basis. When I search for flights from Asia to the US, I still find deals for $600 round trip, just like there were 10 or 20 years ago. So not much has changed in terms of fares. There are high seasons and low seasons, just like there were long ago or decades ago. So I don't see any basis for the claim that airline prices are a lot more than before.

For the lowest fares, book during low season, such as Autumn or Winter, and select flights that are on weekdays, not weekends. If you do that, you can still find flights roundtrip between Asia and the US for $600, even on big US sites such as Travelocity, Orbitz and Expedia. I tried it just now.

In real (inflation adjusted) terms, prices of flying internationally have clearly fallen in last 10 years. $1,000 today is roughly equivalent to around $500-700 a decade ago.

Of course it depends on what you are buying. Some things have gone up a lot more than that (say uni tuition in USA or certain real estate selling prices) while other things have stayed fairly constant (budget hotel rates, some food, many rental markets).

In last year, oil prices have collapsed too. So suddenly, super cheap fare opportunities have become quite abundant again and the the fuel surcharge has been dropped. So in real terms and even nominal terms, flying international budget has become much cheaper than it was 5 or 10 years ago or more.

Another way to fly for like DIRT DIRT CHEAP is by reward stacking. You see, whenever you purchase a flight ticket at any selecting airline, you gain points on what the industry calls "Frequent Flyer Miles" where you can redeem and reduce the cost of your flight.

But there is a certain way to do it by taking advantage of loopholes that will allow you to book 1000 dollar flights for 20 dollars or less!
