Would open boarders with Mexico be a good thing now?

Post by MrMan »

I was looking at a Covid-19 map. Mexico reports less than a thousand deaths and less than 11,000 cases of Covid-19. There are towns in New York state that have had it worse than their whole country.

If the US had an open border with them, Americans seeking to flee the virus could go there. Are there Mexican towns where life is normal... for Mexico?

Covid-19 is a scam and those numbers only mean that in Mexico less of their natural deaths have been falsely attributed to the virus than in the 1st world because of more testing. That testing is done using kits which are said to have an 80% false-positive rate. It hardly means that in Mexico or anywhere else in the 3rd world you're less likely to get infected with something or more likely to survive in their poorer hospitals if you do. Regardless, Americans right now would get deported like illegal immigrants. They're more lenient on illegal immigrants coming from Central and South America than immigrants from the United States. Mexico is long guilty of a double standard and not only towards Americans, they treat immigrants very poorly even if they are just passing through on their way to the USA. I don't think they always get deported back otherwise very few would make it all the way to the USA but they regularly get robbed by the police in Mexico so they have to cross into the USA with nothing. And I think Mexico has a big wall on their southern border with El Salvador to prevent illegal immigration into Mexico and the point of Trump's wall was probably to keep Americans in not Mexicans out. The border with Canada is also closed since March.

Has the violence gone down since 2010? I'm not sure if Mexico is safe for foreigners. viewtopic.php?p=331580#p331580
