Now waiting at the airport. I hope I will be as successful in Bulgaria/East Europe as I believe I will be.

My previous solo travel abroad made this possible because last time was to get myself this freedom and opportunity. I was essentially told I couldn't check-in on the US passport. When I mentioned I was a dual citizen I was allowed to leave.

I predicted this sort of difficulty to leave would happen, just not in the way it did or how soon.

Bulgaria? Aha, are you kidding? Bulgaria is like one big BORING Iowa! The absolute ineptitude of posters on this website is mind-blowing

I was underwhelmed by Sofia, but I want to give Plovdiv and Varna a chance at some point.

Sunny Beach, Bulgaria is the biggest party scene east of Ibiza, or at least it was before Crazy Time. A bit low rent and trashy, with far too many lager lout Brits, but lots of females roaming around.

Varna is okay during summer time. If the capital city doesn't have much going on, I can only imagine what a 2nd city would be like

I am now in checked in. Tomorrow I will be going out and learning the area and doing grocery shopping and other first day things.

I don't think most people here wear face masks. I know some people asked about the face masks.
